What’s the best race for warrior? I have a 30 female human atm, but will reroll if necessary.

Primarily this is about aesthetics. Which race/gender combination looks the best with heavy armor and attack animations. Screenshots are more than welcome.

Racial abilities aren’t really important for the sake of this decision, though it seems like Charr is the best in this category. Can’t see myself using non-warrior skills much.

Aesthetics is an extremely subjective and personal thing. You’re essentially asking us what do YOU like the most.

And racials aren’t important mostly because racials (fortunately) suck outside of very gimmicky uses.

Yes, it’s subjective. And since I can’t seem to make a decision on my own yet, I’d like to hear why others prefer one race over another. I’d like to hear which races have cool animations from those who’ve played them a lot. I’d like to hear which race/gender combos look best in various armors at both low & high ends.

Also, I did say racial abilities aren’t important for this conversation.

Asura for pvp, the animations for hammer and bow are smoother and your swing animations are harder to see.

Charr or Norn for zerging and bunkering in tpvp. Makes you a bigger target which is your job if you’re bunkering.

Personally, I like charr animations for most weapons and they have amazing cultural armor. If you want something barbarian-esque, go norn, again it’s mostly about the armor.

Humans are pretty generic in general, armor and everything else.

Other choices are pretty obvious, Asura if you want a weird little gremlin smashing things. Sylvari if you’d prefer a plant warrior.

Gameplay impacts are minimal, don’t worry about them, just work out what type of character you want.

So up to your own tastes.

I really enjoy my sylvari female warrior. Just decked her out in the new valentine skins. Has the rose for the back slot.

Male Norn – Make him the TALLEST possible, and the BEEFEST possible.

Why? When you happen to get lucky and end up with a Legendary, it will look awesome and be huge.
I just got Dawn (out of pure luck) so I am rolling a HUGE Norn Warrior so that Sunrise will just be MASSIVE :-).

I think my Char Warrior looks pretty bad-kitten but if I were to reroll another warrior it would be tiniest Asura I can make so that my skill animations aren’t so easy obvious.

The risk you have with armor (especially potentially great-looking armor in the future) on Charr is that it will look bad because the proportions simply don’t fit or because your horns magically disappear. Imo, the only real good looking armor on Charr is the cultural armor. But that does not give you a lot of options. The same thing applies to Sylvari: legs are stretched (you see this especially with skirts, it’s just horrible) and the shoulder armor is placed further away from the neck, giving them this floating look.

If you pick a human, you at least have the garantuee that most armor will look good on your character from an objective point of view.

I might be deleting my human after all. I just thought she’d look sexy in the heavy armor but I feel like she’s got no flair.

I’m juggling between an asura for the caffeine-driven, Yoda-esque animations and a charr for the hulking physique. Each has their own con though. Asura have tiny weapons, even at max size, and charr have a goofy run animation on all fours.

Do you understand what “subjective” means? It essentially means we can’t decide for you. You have a thread where people show off their warriors it’s stickied for heaven’s sake… You can find tons of clips on youtube of different warriors on different races. We can’t tell you what you think is “cool” or not.

I made a norn warrior. But, unlike some people in this very thread, I think max body width norn looks like a pile of kittened kitten. They clearly don’t think so. But that’s a personal opinion. Neither is right or wrong.

Do you understand the issue? We, literally, can’t help you.

For dueling/pvp/wvw as small as possible so you are harder to see and also your actions are harder to see. In PvE doesn’t matter. Gender doesn’t effect you any way.

Unless you are fixated on how ginormous your kitten looks, roll Asura…for two HUGE reasons:

-Like stated above, your animations will be harder to read by other players.
-The gameplay is just feels more fluid and fun. You won’t roll-dodge, but flip-dodge, ect. Just try one out and you’ll see the truth I’m putting down brother.

The only reason imo to pick one race or another is if you plan on using cultural armor. Or like how one armor looks on one race. If you like Asura the T3 Heavy is Legit. Human or Norn? The norn has better “Heavy” Cultural armor than Human does in my own onion especially the female one. Chars just looks unproportionate with any kind of helmet on so If you plan on using Helmets don’t roll a charr.

If you like skimpy female heavy armor make a Human or Norn. Norn if you want the Norn Cultural.

Norn. Because Stealth as an Elite in WvW is blatantly OP.

And I don’t know if the hit boxes are the same for all classes, but I seemed to get targeted more in WvW than Asura. Maybe people just don’t want to attack Asura as they are small and cute… I dunno…

And also when I’m attacking an Asuran my sword seems to just slice over the top of their heads and give them a haircut…

Sexy weapons look huge.
Sexy norn females are huge.
