Best attributes for starting exotic set?
Hi dear,
I felt exactly the same when my ele and my war
So I personally chose for the Power/Tough/Vit stuff because I’m only doing dungeon and WvW with guild mates, so as far we have a Guardian and a Warrior Mace/Shield we rolfed on every single dungeon (actually we are doing the exploration of the second lvl 80 dungeon).
So Power/Tough/Vita is the tanky way for the warrior (I’m playing mace/shield + bow as I said before). Your second option sounds more like a DPS way I had before lvl 80.
It’s your choose. But I largely prefer the tanky way if you play high lvl PvE + WvW.
Else my base attributes are 0/0/30/30/0 with taking everything for mace+shield in great marks and the last 20 points depend on the situation.
GL & HF
So when at L80 (being new to the game, haven’t played GW1) my plan of going with traits 30/30/0/0/10 is.. quite crappy? Or am I confusing attributes and traits..
Since I’m only at L60 so far, and I’ve put 20/20/0/0/10 so far and this works very well for simple PvE leveling.
I need to rethink my L80 spec quite alot don’t I?
Currently playing: Level 59 Warrior

Is Power/Toughness/Vitality craftable as a set? I’ve been looking around at exotic sets also, and P/T/V is the stats on the set bought with pvp tokens.
Power/Tough/Vitality is not craftable, it’s called “Soldier’s” in general and the closest you can get to it is either Cleric’s or Knight’s which neither include Vitality.
I run with 30/30/20 traits, full knight armor, greatsword and axe/shield mainly. I carry a war horn and rifle in my bags also. The knight set is Power/precision/toughness.
This is a really nice way to play in my opinion because often with more defensive builds you end up taking such a long time to kill mobs that overall you take more damage. With this build you can mow down mobs without much fear of dying.
Every build has drawbacks and the drawbacks to this build is that you can get in pretty critical condition if you get chain CC’d and it is not very resilient to creatures that use condition damage. If you opt to try something like this out make sure you have at least one condition removal spell!

Actually, Power/Prec/Tough sounds pretty decent. What runes/sigils are you running if I may ask? Divinity maybe? Dolyak?

I use superior rune of the fighter.
+25 Power
+15 Toughness
+50 Power
+35 Toughness
+90 Power
When you use a healing skill you gain might for 20 seconds. (Cooldown 10s)
I think it’s pretty flexible though, divinity could be a good choice because of the amount of stats it gives. I haven’t had a chance to test many of the runes in PvE because they can be quite expensive.
I like both the crafted knight(power/precision/toughness) or Valkyrie(Power/crit dmg/Vitality) sets since it adds a bit of survivability and some attack damage, using a combination of both for my Warrior, still tossing up what rune I want to use though, will either be Soldier or Dolyak.
