Rolling a warrior soon and would like to know whats the best race looks wise e.g Attack animations, running animations, culteral gear, overall looks etc… Thx

Biggest Norn or Charr you can make.

If u like brutal attacks, go charr.

Charr or Norn if you want to look big and fat, sylvari or human if you want to be smaller and more proportional.

If you want to be fire guy with helfire shoulders and volcanus Charr will look best with it. But charr looks good only in this or in cultural armor in my opinion and his combat animations are …strange. Charrs hundred blades looks much worse then humans or norns :-D
I have human with radiant/cultural armor with crafted pants and it looks great. Norn looks very good in this style too. Aspecialy norns cultural is awesome. Maybe best of all as whole set.
Just decide what style you want. Helfire? Radiant? Cultural or some dungeon armor maybe Arah. Look how each race looks in every armor.
But i warn you. If you pick charr for cultural or helfire armor it will be awesome but when you will see humans and norns how they perform their hundred blades and your charr will look like he is barely capable of holding his greatsword you will be a little disappointed :-D

My main is charr warrior, 1800+ hours atm. Only thing from T3 that i like enough to wear – helmet (and it’s usually disabled anyway).

I’l admit to the pants/boots not being particularly awesome. I do wear the pants for lack of better (but all races have this problem). Don’t wear the boots as they are hardly visible anyways.

But the helmet, chest and gloves are absolutely unmatched. IMO off course lol.

Shoulders are nice but I prefer the Primeval shoulders.

Best ones i have seen are Charr and Norn, i’m playing Norn myself but some Charr armor and animations just look brutal.

I decided to grow my “hair” out a couple days ago. So I got photosynthesized by this light source for a couple days then BAM… dreadlocks. Now I’m a sexy warrior. You can still create a fat charr or norn with clanky armor if you prefer. I like my dreadlocks

Of cource no offence and i respect your style :-) If i would like to have my warrior fearsome destroyer with scars i would not pick human, but i wanted to be ,,knight" and humans are great if you want to create warrior in this style. Maybe best. Charrs and norns look great as ,,destroyers" but they are not as good as humans if you want to be
,,humble knight" And that is truth too :-)
It is up to Nomad to choose what he want his warrior to be. I think we showed him a lot of possibilities :-D

Ofcourse its okai to make your warrior into a little princess if you want : p but i think personally that guardians fit the knight in shining armor a whole lot more

Warriors seem more like Mercenaries or just bad people in general, while Guardians are the ones who are all about chivalry ^^

That goes all the way to the class abilities and particle effects, Warriors have an elite to grow in size and every step sounds as if the ground beneath you is breaking, the swing effects on warrior look rather normal with no special effects.

While guardians have lots of white and bright light type of effects, now that i think about it guardians would also fit as some kind of religious fanatics too, they have quite a few particles and abilities fitting that image as much as a knight in shining armor : p

Compared to a norn, yes humans look like children.

There’s no “best” race for this. It depends on what kind of warrior you want to make. Do you want a brute or a knight?

Humans are good if you envision your warrior as a knight of some sort. My character’s haircut is horribly unfitting for a warrior but otherwise she looks really knightly and I totally love her look. I see my character as some sort of errant knight who just didn’t care about the millitary, so human is really fitting.

If you want a warrior that looks brutish and ruthless though, you’re doing it wrong with a human. Norns and Charrs are probably what you want.

Not sure if Sylvari would be a good choice for me. To be honest I can’t think of any profession that suits them other than thief and ranger. But at least I guess you can make a really ugly/scary Sylvari which would make him the brute type.

Asuras… well, midget warriors are good for a laugh!

This is not fair! :-D Human is in light armor. And it is smallest possible compare to tallest possible norn :-D If you put tallest human and smallest norn they will be almost same tall

IMHO is better than the norn last one, and a good reason to go human.

But yeah, heavy juggernaut style is still my favourite.XD

If only the story made my characters look more like mercenaries/adventurers and less like super heroes…XD

You also get to be a little ankle biter, but your bites really hurt bad and are hard to see. Deadly combination.

And flying through the air, like with Earthshaker or Savage Leap, feels like being Yoda.

I’ll just leave this here, don’t even get me started on Asura warr wearing Braham full set including weaps…

In this game the best advice I can give is to always go human because all the armor (aside from cultural of course) is designed around them first and then stretched or shrunk to fit the other races. This as expected leads to odd proportions and weird appearances on some of the armor pieces.

My first warrior was a charr I leveled to 80 and geared out, max height made him look beastly as possibly. I soon realized there was less than a handful of armor sets that looked good.

Now I have been happily maining a human warrior for months and it is the best decision I have made. They look great in everything.

Oh and also, I hate the knightly look, You don’t have to strive for the Knightly look as a human character even if the cultural makes it really easy. The best set I’ve ever made or seen so far is my marauder warrior armor looks straight up BA and anything but Knightly. Perhaps how cool Norn males could look if they weren’t so badly proportioned.

The guy above me is bitter because he plays charr.

Charr and norn – only if you use cultural armor. Proportions on other armors looks terrible, arah armor looks better on my human male.

Charr looks best for animation (my opinion ofc) but horrible to get nice looking armor for it..

Norn.. dunno everything looks so slow.. and the walking also.. (same % speed i know) but the animation on walking.. kitten its boring… compared to a human or asura..
Charr got his own walking ofc and looks nice i think
