Hey,

I’ve seen two bow users who’s done quite a bit of damage with their burst. What’s the way to go about maximizing this busrt skill?

Being solo fire combustion shot and follow it up with Arcing Arrow. Then, use a leap into it (bull’s rush or sword’s savage leap). Follow that up with whirlygig finisher like axe 5 or I think GS’s whirlwind.

Or you can go the might stacker route. Fire field somewhere safe and then arcing arrow and plant tons of banners into it.

0. (optional) Frenzy, Balanced Stance
1. Hit something to prevent adrenaline from going down.
2. Signet of Fury/Healing Surge (full adrenaline bar)
3. Combustion Shot
4. Pin Down
5. Arcing Arrow
6. (optional) Smoldering Arrow
7. weapon swap
8. (melee) Bull’s Rush/Savage Leap/Rush (Rush not recommended)
8. (ranged) Aimed Shot, Volley, Killshot (in this order if target wants to break, else Volley --> Aimed --> Killshot)
9. (melee) Autoattack, Whirl Finisher or standard damage rotation (e.g. knockdown combo from Hammer)

Useful utilities: Frenzy (shorter time window), Balanced Stance (to prevent interruption), Signet of Might (to strike through blocks)

Useful traits: Deep Cuts, Stronger Bowstrings, Leg Specialist, Burst Mastery, Furious, Last Chance

PS. You won’t actually get to land all of that on a target, except maybe for hot-joins

With condition/might stacking you can get around 800 per burn tick and Arching Arrow hits pretty hard then also. The trick is to stay within your field and use like Ottohi says. I’ve been using it since before the last patch as I just started War a few weeks ago it works very well. Best way to optimize bow is either with high crit rate or high condition damage (from my experience).

I’ve found, though, that fire shield is very useful unless you have the HP and such to soak up the damage required to get the might stacks. Best method would be to do this early and use Sword 2 to proc it so you’re not using a utility that you may need later in the fight.
