Guild Wars 2

Hello All,

I am making this thread because I am looking for tips/tricks/builds for the Warrior class. I am brand new to Guild Wars, but I have played WoW quite a bit over the last few years, including a fairly high rating in Arenas. So far I have been using Greatsword with 1Hsword/Shield, but it feels like sometimes the GS attacks like Blades and the 5 ability are very hard to get off, so I was wondering what’s best for PvP, along with tips for general PvP play.

Please don’t hate, I’m just wanting to learn. Very much enjoying this game, the graphics are fantastic, and my leveling experience so far has been quite good.

Warriors can go through all of PvE with a pair of simple weapons, like greatsword and longbow, and learn nothing useful for PvP. You might as well level up in the open world and the personal story anyway, since it is fun and it is there, but you’ll need to force yourself to experiment to really learn anything.

There isn’t a “best for PvP” so much as there’s a “best for your situation”. Depending on the composition of your team and what everyone brings to the table your role in the fight may change. You may need to bunk DPS, apply condition pressure, support fights, roam, and all that good stuff. I’d suggest taking a look at the current popular builds running around (s/s+LB, GS+LB, Hammer+LB, Mace/Shield+s/Shield)

Each build has a unique niche to fill, and depending on your team can be exactly what they need.

I don’t have each build saved, though I’m sure someone does. I may go work out each build on a calc for you once I’ve woken up a bit more if nobody else posts them.

hard to say what is best. I was play SPVP with greatsword /mace+shield. very powerfull build,easy mode gameplay. but I play with rifle greatswird now, much harder to win,but that’s make me enjoy gameplay more,then boring powerfull easy builds. my offer to you,just try different weapons,different builds. don’t copy youtube or forum builds. make ur own unique best for your gameplay. Play with whatever weapons you enjoy, and try to adapt your own build of what you would like to do with said weapons. It’s honestly so much better than using a build someone else has created, even if there’s minimal difference (unless ofcourse the build is what you want).

Play what you enjoy, not what someone else tells you is best.
