Something I’ve noticed for a while is that burst abilities have a 7.75 second recharge with 30 points in Discipline. That doesn’t make sense to me, since 30 points = 30% reduced CD. 30% of 10 seconds is 3 seconds, so shouldn’t the burst recharge be 7 seconds, instead of 7.75?

Is this a bug, or if it’s not can someone explain the strange math on it?

10s divided by (1+30% reduction) or 10/1.3 = 7.7s (rounded up to 7.75s)

For the life of me, I can’t remember how it works in game right now … Mondays …

shouldnt it be 10s x 0.7 = 7s?

pretty sure this is how it works for CD reductions. seems rather counter-intuitive and clunky but hey, that’s ANet for you.

All of the traitline bonuses are divisors. All of the traits are multipliers.

Spot the difference:

• cooldown reduced by 100%
• skill recharge rate increased by 100%
