Burst Skills Cause Deep Wound
kittening brilliant. This was in gw1. God that’s so brilliant. GIVE THIS MAN A MEDAL! Man that’s so good I never thought of that! It would be conditioned based of course. This would greatly aid condition warriors in general. It would be somewhat stupid for glass cannons though. I’m all for taking less of my damage and taking 20% of their health.
yeah, put it into the discipline trait line instead of the (what i think is) useless 1% burst skill damage per 10 points
so 10 trait points for 3 seconds, 20 points for 4 seconds, 30 points for 5 seconds of deep wound on a burst skill hit.
If they do bring back deep wound condition I think it should be redesigned for GW2
Make it a condition that causes 1% maximum health reduction, stacks intensity up to 25%. various warrior skills could apply it in differing amounts of stacks & lengths. For example, Eviscerate and Kill Shot could deal 20 stacks for a short time, Arcing Slice could deal 10 stacks for a long time, and maybe the sword auto attack could deal 2 stacks on Gash for a moderate amount of time, instead of the 2 stacks of bleed that it has now, just to give it slightly more variety.
Would be tricky to balance though, because if it stacks too easy then anybody you face effectively only has 3/4 of their total health to work with, and if it’s too hard to stack then it’s worthless, but, standing next to a warrior in melee should be a mistake rather than a joke in most situations.

That isn’t bad, but I still think having it as a set %, with a controlled application, and being a condition (removable) makes it manageable, and easier to balance.
I think this could work. Might have to make it single target though otherwise Earthshaker might be OP.
Instead of duration from Discipline make it last 4 seconds (doesn’t scale with condition duration), and every point in Discipline makes it take out .33% more health (up to 10% more with 30 points)
oooooOOO i do miss Deep Wound. I would love to see it come back in some shape/fashion.
Agreed that it doesn’t have to be tied to burst skills necessarily. Could fit in well in most weapon lines already. Maybe the weapons that are already great without using their burst skills (axe, greatsword) could the have deep wound tied to the burst to make it more useful.
People would carry Warriors instead of Thieves all of sudden. Deep wound would be essential in everything and due to that they’ll give Thieves deep wound and then Warriors become the minority again…. yea…

Well, it is not like DW would have to be a warrior specific condition, other classes may have access to it too, ofc, not overboard with it.
But having it tied to burst skills would change things around considerably for builds and playstyles for the warrior

Final thrust should apply 2 stacks of this per hit. It’s a sword chain and makes total sense because it was similar in gw1
