Since it was confirmed the game isnt getting any new weapon type…

Warriors will have “torch” as new weapon.
The spec will be called “Raider”.

… Any other ideas ?

It’s most likely to be spear.

Torch or dagger are my guesses, so yeah, I agree.

I think torch would be cool if it gave us a smoke field, or maybe a fire field so warriors are not so dependent on longbow in sPvP.

New spec is called Revenant.

They will get focus for offhand and use it to shoot ki blasts and energy shots a la Dragon kitten. Actally gw2 already has those attacks from the dragon ball mini game :O

Could be mainhand pistol. Saw this heavy armor wearing npc using Pistol/Warhorn yesterday.

lol, warrior does lack a one handed range weapon, but……….pistol?… no love for that.
because they never give warrior any flashy, crazy skills, and rifle already has killshot so you will mostly likely see skills like
unload (rapid fire, volley)
fire a shot to cripple enemy,
fire a shot to evade back
fire a shot to apply vulnerability
fire a shot to gain fury

Spear was a lie and isn’t being released (at least not new spear, you still have harpoon I guess if you’re talking about underwater weapons).

Spear would be awesome and I would play a warrior no matter what shape they are in for this very reason here…

I agree with Tibs and Sagat, it’s probably going to be pistols.

I remember Rytlock, before he went Revenant, fought with sword/pistol in most of his Personal Story/Story mode dungeon appearances, and I’ve always wanted my warrior to be able to run around with the same setup.

Rytlock comes out of the mists with his sword, Sohothin in his hand. He tosses a pistol the the first warrior he sees. “I don’t need this anymore, so you can have it”, he says and grins, walking off into the distance.

A warrior running with sword&pistol would be cool and can still swap to Gs so still has mobility also.

Dagger, duelist. Parrying dagger can be wielded with any weapon including 2h due to the warriors strength. This changes the last three skills similar to thief, with a focus on parrying and countering attacks.

Won’t happen but I’d love to wield Eternity and Incinerator at the same time. Parry an attack with incin and follow up with a giant attack with eternity.

I believe off-hand pistol will be the most likely thing, since Rytlock have one.

I’m kind of hoping for off-hand dagger, that can apply a lot of Vuln/give an Evade and a skill that does a ton of damage to a target under 50%

(I’ve seen them confirming that there would be no new weapnos. But techincally, spears are not new)

Warrior - Trooper (aka Cowboy/girl), gets dual pistols, class mechanic changes to defensive options (something like F1 becomes a short (i.e. 0.5s block)) per Adrenaline bar

FYI, Other predictions

Ranger - Druid, gets a staff, likely will “merge with” animals or transform and allows direct use/control, Staff will be Regeneration boon/other support focused (cast your boons and transform based)

Necromancer - Dark Eldritch, gets Greatsword, addresses in combat mobility issues

Engineer - Golemancer, gets a hammer, allows use of mobile turrets (follows character)

Elementalist - Wizard, gets a sword (will be added to focus or offhand dagger), allows in combat weapon swapping but you only get one attunement

Mesmer - Chronomancer, gets a Shield, new clone mechanic based on movement impairing and haste

Thief - Assassin, gets a rifle and addresses the ‘lack of long-range (1200) option’, living story Caithe-like abilities

Guardian - Crusader, gets warhorn, mechanic F1-F3 changes to condition based next attack offensive (similar to Thief Venoms)

Revanant - probably Ritualist, no other ideas yet

I`m pretty certain its going to be pistol. I don’t see torch working, as longbow already gets the burn fields and warriors are largely based around bleed being their condition.

I think wielding a staff as a melee would be ultimately kitten. Silly casters and their spells, we’ll show them how you use a stick.

Commando: Dagger mainhand pistol off hand. Single target burst weapons. Maybe even throw in one stealth ability.

“Monk” or Martial Artist is far more likely be a future specialty for Guardian with Prayer/Spirit weapon mechanics.
