I haven’t played in over a year, but back when I quit warriors were having a hard time. Now an expac later its still a problem?

What sites list viable warrior builds for spvp? What success have you guys had?

Well i don’t know how long you have been gone. but it sounds like you missed out on Hambow warriors (hammer/ bow build) and Shoutbow (sword /warhorn, longbow build.)

Several months before HOT came out warriors started to get nerfed every month. Starting with Toughness nerf, Warhorn nerf, might nerf, Shout nerf, stability nerf, and others. It got to the point where there was literally no good build for warriors out there in SPVP> Then HOT Came out and highlighted theis by making evry other class extremly overpowered compared to Warrior. All base professions were pretty much subpar to HOT Specializations, and warrior got hit hardest. Berserkeris the weakest Etite Spec in the game right now and warrior is hurting so bad that they have almost no pressence in League. So, if you are a dedicated warrior player, I feel for you.

warriors are the worst profession in the game in a way that you can’t roll your face on the keyboard and win the game. (That’s how bad balance has become)

It’s gotten to a point where you (with effort) could play warrior proficiently, and carry your team, yet despite this you will still get called out and scapegoat’d for any and every downfall your team will experience. The balance environment for GW2 is worse now than it’s ever been.

I am not good with warrior but i try to learn it. And it feels like a lot of potential. It can hit dam hard and has a lot of CC. I mostly struggle surviving myself when i can´t land my stuns … I play ele main. when i meet a realy good warrior player it´s one of the greatest threats. I can say that warrior and condi mesmers are my nemesis. Fortunately i rarely meet a competent warrior ….

It’s not competence you rarely come across. Its amazing. You see. there are many competent warriors out there, the problem is that the warrior does not work with just competency, you have to be amazing to stand up to other professions with the warrior. And most amazing warriors know that in SPVP they are severly weakened as opposed to WVW. This is why you don’t see many warriors making vids of sPVP, but WVW. because things like food, banners, more armors, and other buffs allow warriors to be more useful.

And also because WvW doesn’t force you to stand in 1 point and eat the kittened amount of AoE damage some professions can dish out. You can actually use the environment to your advantage, and since warrior doesn’t really on burst healing (skills that heal for a lot at once) you’re often required to disengage and kite if you have something like poison on you (since it punishes healing signet’s over-time healing much more than other healing skills), something you can’t do in sPvP really.

I’ve had excellent success with the GS/ Axe+Shield core power warrior (found it through K Pop’s post on here.) We still don’t have nearly the team support/utility that other professions get, like Revenant, for example, but we do have top-tier pressure damage. In SoloQ this pressure is quite valuable. Power War

It is superb at team fighting so I would try to spend most of the match in those, personally. Rarely do I ever engage in 1v1’s without the intent of being a boon to my team’s map presence overall.

I just want to point out that I have been using Rune of Vampirism for 2 reasons.
Because of the passive stun break on the 6th rune, sometimes it helps me when I am about to die randomly. (EDIT) I need to verify this. It could just be overlapping with the endure pain proc each time. I will test this.
Because the life steal on the 6th rune, with 5 targets in the area, restores about 3.5k HP. It is basically a free Dead or Alive.

Gonna have to disagree here. We are not Top tier burst damage in spvp. Sure we have burst damage, but in a fight it is unlikely we will survive long enough to make it effective. Necro’s in particular shut Warriors down

Maybe not in wvw but in spvp? they have more sustian, more direct damage, more condi damage, better range pressure and a much lower skill requirement. so yes, in spvp they shut us down. i’m sure there are amazing warriors out there who can 1v1 them and win with some measure of reliability, but for most warriors we are completly out classed by even mediocre necros

I dont know when you quit but before HOT warriors always had a build. Recently it was shout bow and dps rampage warriors, before that it was hambow. Even back when spirit rangers, dps thieves and turret engys were running rapid.

Warriors could still use a banner with 2 stances which was the regen warrior which was back in bunker wars 1.

Atm warrior is by far the worst class. Many like myself try to push threw it and come up with unique builds that have success vs low level-mid level players. Yet when it comes to good level play and higher warrior is almost completely ineffective.

Ill give a example, i was on a 5 game winning steak. I had played 2 games with this thief named dustinnn with the account name of booms. He was incredibly good and i decided to run far when we were not winning mid. I cant with this fight vs a necro but i knew this thief would come plus 1 it. So i get downed and the thief comes out of no where and stuns back stabs the necro drops and kills him.

The next match hes on the other team and i tell the necros and rev on the team hes good watch him. He went on to win his 1 vs 1 vs them and plus 1 fights. The team lost the match and 1 player blamed me for it.

This is just a ranked game in t7 of diamond. Dustinnn, me and 1 other person was diamond and the rest were legendary.

What i was trying to say is thief is hard countered by DH and rev. Against every other class though he can still have a huge impact on matches.

As a warrior you have to play a 1 vs 1 condi roamer which you will lose to a condi mesmer, rev, necro, scrapper and will not beat a ele. If you are a high level player you will lose to any other class of equal ability.

If you play gun flame like i have recently, you will not do enough damage to change the outcomes of fights in equal number fights since you need other players to sustain for you to dps while necro, rev, scrapper will do almost as much damage and still be in the middle of that fight and have the sustain to take the hits you deliver.

So to answer your question you can have success on warrior if you are mechanically better and are better at understanding what will win you the fight and them not being able to not adapt to what you are doing.

No matter what you decide to do just try to have fun.

Don’t play Warrior. It’s a garbage class that maybe 1% of the entire population finds success with. 100% of the fights you’re in will be frustrating. Your elite spec is trash compared to every other classes regular specs. Literally everything you bring to the table is done better by literally every other class, and anything you actually do have is pure gimmick.

Not only would I suggest not to play Warrior, I’d honestly suggest not to even play the game. ANet doesn’t deserve your business with their model of “kitten balance.”

Warriors are in a kittenty place, have been for 7 months now, Anet has done LITERALLY NOTHING to change this, and will continue to do literally nothing to change it. They don’t care.

Warrior was great getting to diamond on an alt. When I tried to bring a warrior into legendary on my main, though, it was horrible. If you’re good at it but aren’t worried about getting to the top, it still works, but it’s currently beyond weak at high tiers. We’re all expecting a balance patch very soon (a week?), so the situation might be drastically different a week from now.

I will say the 5% heal signet buff has actually made the difference in some of my matchups. A little bright spot in all this darkness. Even though it is only like an extra 15 hps, in a 30 second fight, that 450 health is significant if I down the enemy with less than 1k hp left.

If a shiro/glint rev loses to a warrior who’s not running some condi BS or a gunflame trash build then there’s a problem. The necro shouldn’t be losing to either of those if he can pop into RS. If he has no life force, well he’s screwed.

Warrior is in a terrible state. It is bar none in the worst situation in the history of the game.

As others have said, warrior was nerfed piece-by-piece before HoT. When HoT released this power gap was amplified with the elite specs. Now warrior is at the absolute bottom. Rangers thought they had it bad, but this was before elites. At least then, the power creep wasn’t as high. NOW, it’s just blatant. If you’re a warrior now, you have to claw TWICE or THRICE as hard just to eek out a win vs somebody while other professions have a much easier time, (reaper, scrapper). It’s just blatantly unfair.

Gunflame or burn warrior are the only two semi-workable builds, but apart from that, NO chance.

tbh most revs have no idea what are burning wars, anyone have an idea will know that you can kill burning wars by simply using sword 2 or 3 at max range and kit..and go in with shiro burst and kit again

I play warrior as my alt trying to train it. (Yea i like playing underdog …)
My experience is that warrior´s survivability is realy low. He can only mitigate long enough for bursting and that doesn´t kill most oponents. Also the directly noticeable teamsupport is low. What a warrior can do is deal a lot of damage. And it has a lot of single target CC and some short range area CC. But here is the problem. If i miss my target with the CC, and this can be a lot of thigns like dode, block, stability, …) I can´t survive long.
So a warrior can do two things: 1:1 if you can play him very good and play in team with a class that can heal or mitigate damage on the warrior. Playing him in unorganized solo Q feels aweful, with some realy funny and shiny moments ….
Example: Jump on the point with three oponents … stomp. Two fly off the point and down, one has autostunbreak, shieldleap on the on still here – stun, bash him with a mace chain, then burst stun —- swap rifle — berserk — butt him off point and gunflame him dead ---
Its fun to stun and toss people around ^^. But it ralrely works so well …
