I am very curious about a longbow build to deal heave AoE + Support in large Teamfights.

what do you think about it?
Your enemy will have a VERY hard time comming near you and if you fail keeping him on distance you can regain it by fear and the passive quickness.

Please rip it apart and tell me what to improve!

In sPvP? there aren’t really “large” teamfights. The aoe is mostly wasted in this situation. Longbow’s best damage skill is slow and difficult-to-impossible to land on someone that is even half decent since its so freaking slow. The burst skill is strictly worse than almost every other burst skill in a 1on1 or small skirmish situation.

So basically no.

Sorry to shatter your dreams, but longbow builds never work. The damage is just too small.

I ran a super effective build with longbow + Greatsword.

It was a high hps one focussed around greatsword traits and just equipped longbow in other set.

I’d open with longbow attacks (longbow 3 would hit for 3-4 k on multiples), close targets and then once in range switch to gs and do the real damage.

Once i build up a full adrenal bar i’d switch to longbow, fire off the adrenal and longbow 3 again (which combined was very good), and then back to GS.

Longbow was nice as it allowed me to keep up damage as i chased people. Also if I had to run I would just fire up LB3 and Longbow adrenal behind so chasers would be forced to take damage as they chased. LB adrenal + LB3 was nice to fire over thieves shadow refuge if they threw them up.

I’d never have a build based on it though. Same goes for rifle. The dps is just poor compared to ANY other weapon.

In its current form, Longbow is mostly useful for two things: Defending in WvW and for getting the fire shield/burning bolts from Combustive Shot’s fire field.
