Can we still roam?
I’ve been running s+sh/gs in T4 and its working alright. The damage buffs have me killing npcs fast enough to get the job done before defenders arrive, and I have a chance of killing most classes.
I’d say it’s overall potency against other players isn’t as good as h/gs was prepatch. But I can’t run h/gs and excpect to live with the mobility changes and buffs to ranged types like pew pew rangers, etc.

Pew pew ranger damage was actually nerfed. You mean pew pew mesmers?
I don’t have a ranger, but I’ve heard the opposite. Nevertheless, point being ranged damage mitigation is needed much more than it was before.

I’ve had much better experiences using GS + Mace/Shield compared to Ham/GS. Ham/GS is still good and it’s doing way more damage than before but that’s just it. Damage. In return, Warrior lost the ability to spec Leg Specialist on the side and is now forced to choose between Burst Mastery and Merciless Hammer. Not to mention the abundance of blocks, blinds, invuln, and stealth that the game has now makes landing Hammer skills extremely difficult and unrewarding when you finally do. Afterwards Warriors are pretty much at the mercy of kiting and the insane damage other classes can output.
M/S is basically the defensive version of Hammer. You bait out enemy burst, close the distance and set up the usual stun→HB. It’s still troublesome to fight Mesmers, Thieves, Guardians, and blind spam Eles but what can you do …
Still, before we never actually had problem to engage and disengage, and now I feel I can only do it if they let me. I actually feel like my Medi Guard that I used before my break had more ways to disengage than this we have now
