Warrior Community,
I recently turned level 40 and received the summons to the Caudecus’s Manor dungeon.

I have been sorting through the Warrior forums for some solid advice on how to put together an approach to dungeons. At level 40 and learning the Master level of training, my traits reset and that gave me pause.

I am not trying to incense my group that I eventually group up with as it relates to the skills that I choose. I am looking for a balanced approach to help my eventual team.

I know traditional player roles (Tank, Healer, DPS) have been spread through all classes, but at the same time I am looking to help my group either way.

I am not trying to be a glass cannon nor am I trying to be complete support.

I did complete Ascalonian Catacombs (AC) in story mode, but that is where I started wondering on my approach to dungeons. I was able to endure and complete AC using a Rifle as I heard Warriors kind of suggesting in the map channel that ranged may be “easier.”

I am kind of open minded here as I feel that how I do world events and tasks will probably differ from entering a dungeon even if I may have to redo traits.

Cheers,
Grarr Steelfang

Im a level 44 warrior.
Actually im running CM with a 20/0/0/4/10 trait build.
Equiping GS and a rifle, using banners for support.

I just stack 3 banners, and use my rifle.
When i got the oportunity i use 100b.

@Fenrir
Thank you for your response.

For your selection of banners, which three are you going with?

Banner of Defense – armor/vitality
Banner of Discipline – critical chance/critical damage
Banner of Strength – power/conditional damage
Banner of Tactics – healing/boon duration
Battle Standard (elite) – revive + fury/might/stability

I imagine group composition would determine this, but perhaps the safe ones that can apply to most classes?

Also, your traits are listed as 20/0/0/0/10, what traits are you using more of?

For Strength, are you using Restorative Strength and perhaps Great Fortitude?

For Discipline, are you using Heightened Focus or perhaps Thrill of the Kill?

Thanks in advance,
Grarr Steelfang

Only tip i have for warrior in CM: use longbow as ranged weapon, you might not even want to go back to rifle lol

@bngn
Your suggestion is long bow due to more AoE vs. single target Rifle damage?

Aoe damage is only half the reason

See those mobs over there? BAM AOE BLIND! now they are completely useless for 5 seconds, I cant count how many times this ability helped the group in dungeon fights.
Plus you have the aoe burn ability which is a combo field = begin combo for other classes’ abilities. AND if you use your bow #3 skill (forgot name) on that burn combo field you get Area might (give all your allies Might). Rifle is just mehhh

That is a compelling case for team cohesion. AoE blind and combo starters sounds like a good enabler and considerate to the abilities of other classes. The area based buff seems like a good synergy with the skill selection.

Are you pairing the longbow with anything for your weapon selection or are you just using a bow?

I use mainly dual sword as melee weapon and I swap weapon as soon as the cooldown is up.
You can use all your melee weapon skills, make sure you at least 1 bar of adrenaline (if you used all your adrenaline on a melee burst skill then do some auto attack to rack up adrenaline)
After that switch to longbow and do aoe burn > blind > #3 skill > #2 skill (save the longbow root skill for emergency)
Then after weapon swap is available again switch back to melee. This way you can maximize your damage + help your team at the same time.
This is preferred with discipline trait that give -5s cool down on swap weapon and also gain adrenaline on swap weapon.
