I’ve been considering crafting ascended Celestial armor for my warrior so I don’t need to have two sets. I know this is generally not recommended but after the changes to berserker and the +6% stat increase on celestial do you think this mite work? Will I be able to do dungeons and fractals as well as hop into WvW and perform there?
If I do this I would use berserker weapons and trinkets.

I have been tempted to use Celestial for the fact that the numbers seems to give more than the other sets. Main problem is that it is spread throughout. Not a burst build. Not a condition build. Not a support build. Since you plan for ascended, do you have a non ascended celestial set? If so how did it work for you?

no because warriors can’t utilize the stat spread with anyone build properly.

Well I’ve got a berserker ascended back piece and I’ve been working on building a set of 3 Assassin, 3 berserker for my armor and I’m two pieces in. I’ve been making it for fractals and dungeons but I use PVT in WvW and I don’t want to have to switch to an exotic set depending on what I’m doing. I think if I don’t go for celestial I’ll still want an ascended set for WvW for the better stats.

Celestial armor, or at least a mix of it, works surprisingly well with sword/x + longbow builds. I have enough power (~3300+ with stacks and might from self) and crit damage (63% or 73% depending on weapon) to hit hard with Final Thrust and Arcing Arrow, and enough condition damage (~1300 with might from self) for some decent bleed and burn ticks. The trait Last Chance combined with the new sigil of intelligence will make for some deadly burst combos with Final Thrust when your opponent reaches half health.

The problem with using longbow and Sword/x is that its just less damage then axe/x and GS and with the current mechanics the game has in place those tank stats are just wasted :/.

Adding up the numbers including ferocity, celestial adds up an extra 1000.
Am too lazy right now to get the actual numbers or source but its in the dulfy website. Berzerker is 900ish power 650ish ferocity and precision totaling to 2200ish.
Celestial have 400ish spread out to 8 traits like power healinh ferocity etc etc etc totaling to 3200ish.

If we can build an all in one warrior build to benefit from all stats, it may become something…or nothing.

But if you weight the stats by their usefulness, celestial falls far behind. Even for the most versatile builds it’s inferior. If you can get away with wearing berserker, then you’ve already got 1200 stats wasted on celestial (vit/tou/hp). Even in the best of cases not all the stats have equal value.

Oh, I should have clarified that I’m referring to WvW, not PvE. Pure zerker is obviously the way to go in dungeons and whatnot, but the bonus stats from celestial gear is great in WvW.

I’m using it on my guardian. Works awesome. But keep in mind that as a guardian[healway mesh-up with GS], you’re making use of all stats. As a warrior, you don’t really need healing power imho[except for rare tactics shout build]
, but still – running longbow/sword makes it somewhat viable to get a lot of celestial armor pieces, since it utilizes 6 stats our of 7 somewhat decently.

yeah but like other said, healing is wasted on all warr builds beside shouts or regen banner. and vitality is kinda almost always wasted as well, since we have so much allready.

So you end up with only 2170 points, which is even less then other amulets, but it’s even worst!
If u look at raw dmg then its 434×3 = 1302 points distributed equally between power, precision and ferocity. But for max dmg a distribution like 651 power, 451 precision and 200 ferocity (like zerk amulet) would have work much better…

I tried to work with celest stat many times but always found that other combo can give you much more.
