My friend is rolling a warrior, and I’m going to set aside one character to level with her whenever she’s actually on.

I have one of each profession, so I was just wondering what one works best alongside a warrior? I think she will probably stick with sword/board, sword/sword or greatsword although maybe I could talk her into a rifle.

As always, guardian is a great help with any profession. Also, since they dont have range, you cant steal kills (jk jk)

If she’s levelling, both a Greatsword and Rifle are used. Rifle to tag ranged mobs or to attack stuff that will destroy her in melee, and the Greatsword for everything else.

As for a good levelling partner class… another Warrior?. Failing that, as above a Guardian is an excellent choice as the blinds and aegis give the Warrior far more uptime on their damage, i.e. not needing to pull back to recover health and the like. Guardian AoE pull combined with 100 blades is also hilarious in PvE.

Don’t level with Sword + Board or Sword + Sword on the Warrior – Greatsword has them pretty much all beaten when it comes to killing efficiency, and you also excellent mobity with it. Utility skills can be used for panic buttons (Endure Pain and errr.. Endure Pain) with the Guardian taking care of the rest.

I’d suggest an elementalist. The warrior’s skill kit has a lot of combo effects, but almost no fields. Elementalist is the opposite, mostly combo fields with little effects to activate them.

I’d have to say a Engineer or a Ranger. Engineer for the amazing support it offers and AoE damage. A warrior can pile up the monsters and a engineer can AoE slay them. Ranger for the spirits bonuses and ranged damage.

Depending on your level of communication during leveling I would certainly recommend any class that can set up a lot of combo fields.

I think an Elementalist would be a good partner because they have various combo fields but not many finishers while a Warrior has multiple finishers and the only field I know of is the Long Bow burst ability.

I’ve always felt like Guardian had strong synergy with the warrior.

Other classes can work really well with one but I think Guardian just does it more naturally.

If I were you I would pick Elly. they seem to be the hardest to solo with. if you have a leveling partner I’d take advantage of that.

For the love of god, do NOT pick Guardian. We started together with a friend (he is a thief) and I picked Guardian following the similar suggestion. Since then I went through greatest pains to find a way to play that class, only viable solution appeared to be gs+shouts kit. Which have now been nerfed into the ground. I toyed around with new gs, it`s just bad. And all other weapon choices are just bad, non-viable for pve, generally uninteresting or are going to be nerfed along the gs (hammer/retaliation).
I`ve spent a lot of time on that character and now I am dropping it in favor of Warrior which is more viable than Guardian in every way possible.

Play a Hammer Guardian or a shortbow thief. You give her perma-protection that way as a Hammer Guardian and you can give her a weakness aura as a shortbow thief.

As a Sword/Board warrior, I welcome any Hammer Guardians and shortbow thief in my dungeon PuG.

I have awesome synergy with a guildie guardian while meleeing in dungeons. Guardian keeps you alive and the might buffing you can do together is insane. If you’re specced to damage, then pretty much anyone that can give you regen+combofields.
