Is there a current build that is superior for commanding? Obviously I don’t need tons of dps but a little would be nice. Readily available stability would be helpful.

Only class I don’t regularly play in warrior so I’m not sure whats the best for commanding since i only know pvp and roaming builds

You’re just going to want your run-of-the-mill 0/0/20/30/20 Hammer/Sword+Warhorn WvW Frontliner build only slightly more defense-oriented. Since you’re a commander you want to be a little bit beefier. You’ll probably want a little over 3k armor and around 25k health with the rest going into whatever DPS you can find.

Traits will be Dogged March, Cleansing Ire (or Hammer Mastery/Balanced Stance), Lung Capacity, Quick Breathing, Vigorous Shouts, Adrenal Shouts, and Destruction of the Empowered (or Mobile Strikes).

All zerg-oriented Warrior builds are some variation of this (except for the occasional Destroyer, but you’re a Commander so you don’t want that.)

Most shout warriors don’t use 3 shouts. They use either dolyak signet or balanced stance (and most likely last stand as well).

build no different from your followers so you know their limits and when to pull out and heal up.

and I will not build like my followers.. I need to survive, not do dmg and cc.

I have an 80 of every class with multiple different builds so I already know limitations and cool downs of the skills needed.

Shout commanders can not be that bad. You just need for example two guards in your party who can give stability. Or have two shouts and one “emergency-stability” which can be handy for that 95%-chance Battle Standard, etc, etc.

You have close to 40k with health and have stupidly high toughness. You pretty much should never die on this build tbh. This is called the easy-mode build, training-wheels build, the smooth-sailing build, cheese build, whatever you wanna call it. You have the health of 2 guardians essentially.

Hate to necro this thread but I can’t seem to find what im looking for using the search function. I’ve been in various leadership roles in other mmo’s and am interested learning how to command in wvw. My question is what kind of build could I run with sword shield to be more of a support type of commander focused moreso on assisting in front line battles instead of getting kills. Any tips or builds would be appreciated.
