Guild Wars 2

Hello there.

I’ve recently come back to the game and currently maining/relearning how to play a Warrior as it its playstyle feels the most comfortable to me. Being mainly as WvWvW player I’ve noticed a lack of Commanders on my server and decided to help fill the gap.

Having been out of touch with the game for a long time, I’m here to ask what you guys think would be the optimal build to run as a Warrior for Commanding large groups? I’m aware people consider Guardian the best class for the job, but I’d prefer doing it on a Warrior if possible.

might spamming using phalanx strength or maybe vigorus shouts at a pinch
given the recent banner upgrade I’d think about that, + discipline if you are happy with hammer.
defense line is a given and you need strength/gs if you are going might.
BUT you need stab and cleanse, and so do your minions….any tank can tag, but if you dont spam the stab you need to coordinate your frontline through your guards .

Is what I came up with using a mix of shouts and banners, any suggestions on what could be improved/what is wrong with it (Not sure how much toughness/vitality I should aim for before bumping personal dmg.)?

I also considered dropping WH for a Shield and combining it with phalanx for some considerable might sharing while blocking. But I think shouts being on a low CD on top of giving some healing/condi cleanse plus the WH own utilities would benefit the group much more.

I zerg command with a classic shout warrior. The current meta has a lot of condis, so having strong condi clear which you’re in control of is huge for your survivability.

It’s quite durable, has good CC, and its DPS isn’t too terrible, for such a tanky build. And, again, it deals with condis very, very well.

Glass cannon is fine. Take an endure pain or two and defense traitline if you are running melee. Otherwise u dont need endure pain or defense traitline, just grab a berserker stance or something to prevent condi bombs/boonstrip.
