I just have a question for all of you, what is the best warrior for high fractals/raid ? Condi PS or simply PS

My opinion:
_The condi’s weapons are more beautiful… But i don’t know if it’s worth to take condi PS cause i don’t know how many might can give the condi PS…
_PS zerk is always needed, so it’s maybe worth to craft zerk armor..

Please, could you help me ? Cause i want to craft an armor, and i don’t want to regret it…

If you want to be top notch super imba elite top 5 worldwide then power ps build with zerker gives more damage output if you are able to survive.

Condi is still good but not elitists as power ps.

If your guild doesn’t require you to run a specific build go with the one you like better.

This isn’t factually correct. Condi ps has higher dps than power at many raid bosses and in most fractals.

Someone told me to make condi’s armor, because the zerk PS is sometimes possible in exo, in raid.
Is that correct ?

And someone could tell me how many might can give condi PS ?

Quantify agrees with me except at sloth where I say condi is better and they disagree. Even in the bosses we disagree on the difference in dps is basically nothing.

If your statement was “play whichever you like”that’s all you should have said. Instead you offered misinformation which I tried to correct and you attack me saying “no one cares” well if no one cares why did you say it?

this is situational, depends on what boss ur facing. but in 65% of encounters in fractals/raids, condi is better, if u can melee the boss 100%, zerk phalanx is better, if not, condi phalanx

welp from my experience:

Condi more effective for pve, especially large hp enemy bosses (champs or whatever). And given how simple everything other than champs and bosses in pve are…..condi is better for pve. Its tick based damage so it takes a bit of momentum but once you got that momentum everything starts to melt. The only flaw is this momenum impedes ur performance against lesser enemies….whereas with power you automatically deal high damage and cleave through them.
Plus the amount of tank you can get with condi…..just makes it so easy in pve lol. I mean condi and condi duration are ur king damage…..power would be next, but there is no gear that allows this. The other damage gears left only introduce precision into the mix…which isn’t really gonna do much for you unless u are traited for on crit damage.

Power better for spike/burst damage.

I don’t do raids but whenever I have tried them I’ve been told to go condi cause they can’t use a power warrior. Or some1 can easily come and take my place as power warrior….and they tell me to go condi warrior or change to ele. Idk, just feels like condi is more wanted when I try to raid.

I mean thats all just from my personal experience and the numbers I experience and what not. I check the combat logg for all my builds, but I don’t crunch the numbers like they do for raids….but the only way i see power warrior trumping condi warrior is through Phalanx strength and the hypothetical 25×30×6 (you and 5 others is it? or just 5 total? idk, make that 6 a 5 mbe) = alot of extra power and damage that a condi warrior can only offset with fire fields….and fire fields won’t offfset it by much.

Definitely gonna take me longer to kill enemies in wvsw with condi. With my gunflame I kill half of the players I meet in 2 hits though i.e. tap them with rifle 4 then fire gunflame….unless they got protection on themselves or an ally booning them.

I don’t think it’s really that situational. Condi is at least equal to power on every raid boss except KC and better on a good most of them. Melee ability has very little to do with it but ofcourse if you can’t melee condi is way better.

First of all let me say hello to you all.. first time to officially post here..
I started playing at the end of july when i bought HoT when it was 1/2 price..
I leveled to 80 open world (crafting, hearts, events, Meta’s etc), Mostly in PS build as I leveled. I’ve only done a few Fractals, and a cple of dungeons when i was lvl 30ish.. since then rest is as i wrote above. So here is basic info on my Main char. Any tips / suggestions welcome.

Server – Dragonbrand
My Main char.
80 Charr Warrior (Condi PS build)
Crafting – Armorsmith – 500, Weaponsmith – 425ish?
Currently wearing Full exotic Viper, ascended
Trinkets: Sinister / viper mix (all currently +9 AR) Nothing in enrichment slot
both rings attuned.
Weapons – Exotic Viper Sword / Wild Abandon (ascended Torch) Viper / Exotic Viper Longbow
Sup. Zerker runes on armor..
Sup. Malice / Bursting on weps

I too as the OP was wondering same thing. I have collected bout 80% of the materials i need to start crafting a full ascended armor set so that I might look into raiding soon.
I currently have 3 guild slots avail as well and looking for any Raid style guild that would have me so that I can start learning the mechanics of them.

Any good theorycrafting on this subject, comparison of Condi PS vs. Power PS would be appreciated by me and many others who are reaching the critical stage of what to make for thier first ascended armor set would be great.
Any Youtube videos that share / tut, / walkthroughs of the Raid links would be greatly appreciated.. (prefered videos with actual people talking, popup text etc.. helpful.. not just a bunch of loud music)

I have read and talked to many players and I hear 50 / 50 on this subject.. Condi is better / Zerker PS is better.. I would like to see more info and factual intel on this subject so i can decide what I will be making in the near future…

Wow that argument over which is better is pretty pointless when you can easily get the gear for both cheap. Just start with one, and get the gear for the other, then switch off equipment when your party needs it.

I find condi ps is usually higher dps for me as the power rotation is odd, and the condi damage is easier to keep high. On spike needed bosses like KC, I swap to power. In open world I suggest condi as you can run when in need and they still take damage, so you can wait for your healing to recharge.

As for fractals, I’ve not yet gotten a condi set geared up to do high level fractals with (working on it), however, I find myself wishing I had more range weapons on my power ps gear. I believe Condi would be the way to go here.

Overall, I suggest condi for like 80% of the stuff. KC and Dungeons I would do power.

Wait…how can I get this gear for cheap? And how cheap? You can get like 1 set from story content in exotic level.

Berserker gear is extremely easy to get a hold of. You can spend karma to get some, or you can spend some gold in WVW to get some, Sinister gear is also easy to get as a substitute for Vipers until you decide which you like better. Given, it’s exotic, but there is no stat difference between exotic and ascended. (ascended has access to the newest 4 stat armor sets)

by the time you get to a point where it even matters that you have ascended, you’ll have earned all the laurals you need to get your trinkets, and you’ll also probably have gathered the resources you need for crafting your preferred ascended gear.

O,o Ascended gives higher stat values, so there is a difference between exotic and ascended. However, if you’re implying that stats like ‘zerk’ ‘sinister’ ‘viper’ are also on ascended, then ignore me!

However, exotic Viper’s gear is highly expensive compared to other exotics! Zerker gear you can easily get from many sources as others have said. If you’re wanting Viper stats for condi, farm up a bunch of HoT maps to get linseed oil as that’s whats going to be the biggest cost for the new gear stats. It’s 10 oils per piece of equipment. (60 for a full armor set, another 10 per weapon). You don’t need it for jewelry though.

If you’re working budget, I suggest getting the viper’s trinkets recipes from the trading post (black diamond) and then making sinister armor. You need a once daily item to make the stat item (blood for zerk, black diamond for viper etc.), however you CAN buy that item from the trading post too. Think it’s Charged Ambrite Sheet? This should save you some cost to test condi.

If you’re planning on raiding, you’ll need to get as many viper’s items as possible to reach that 100% condi duration, otherwise you might drag down your squad.

Ascended back, rings, accessoires and amulet can be bought in the three new zones with selectable stats including Viper’s. No need to wait for laurels, just doing dailies there and gathering nodes will let you buy trinkets in very short time.

The total difference in an armor set is not 18 points. The difference in stats vary per piece. If you factor in weapons, trinkets and back piece (and maybe infusions? If you choose to go mighty +9 infusions) the difference in stats is rather noticeable. Especially if you are switching stats. I’d say the total dps you could miss out on is around 10%. Between a full set of exotic and full set of ascended (trinkets and all).

I’ve just returned to gw2 and I’ll go back to my good old warrior: I’ve no idea about the state of warriors and whether to go condi or power….my focus is WvW,;
