This is what I came up with. It’s no news conditions are poor in Dungeons, and Warrior is one of the worst to do so. There is no point trying to optimize damage of a bad build setup, so do what you can to pump out more damage from the rest of your group from Banners, EA and Vuln, hence the Sigil selection.

Flissy is right. No matter what you’re going to aggravate people with poor choice of weapons and very poor choice of build. This is PvE, not PvP.

Hi,

Condition builds do work in dungeons, but they’re slow and inferior to power-based builds, as other posters have pointed out. Now, you seem to be aware of that, and willing to try something new (i.e. going away from the usual and IMHO boring berserker thing), so let’s move on and try to answer your question.

While condition builds can work nicely if you’re soloing an instance (I’ve soloed some boss like that before), I think they may reach limits when you belong to a group of 5 players, because other players may stack conditions faster than you do, reaching the 25 stack cap. So I’d rather suggest playing a hybrid build, i.e. a mix of direct damage and condition damage, if you like.

Explanations:

  • We go for a sword / warhorn + rifle build. You can use a second sword if you prefer, but I believe that the warhorn would be more useful to your group.
  • We keep Flissy’s choice of utilities, as I believe that they are optimal for the build, too.
  • You get 2,620 (2,875) attack, 63% critical chance, 0% critical damage (so just the 0.5 bonus, plus boon-based bonuses), 1,457 condition damage – using exotic gear only, without stacks of corruption or might.
  • You gain fury for 10s each time you immobilize, and can immobilize with both the sword and the rifle (thanks to “Leg Specialist”), so basically you’ll have perma-fury. With the banner of discipline up, you reach 91% critical chance.
  • With such a high precision, we equip signets of Earth. Considering you also equip “Precise Strikes”, you’ll almost inflict one bleed per strike, and sometimes two of them. This works nicely with the AA of both the sword and the rifle (which already inflict one stack of bleeding).
  • The rifle lets you put 8 stacks of vulnerability permanently, and can push back, cripple and immobilize, so gives a bit of control.
  • The rifle pierces, which means that all your shots and effects (vulnerability, cripple and immobilization) can be put up to 5 foes, provided they’re aligned. This may or may not come handy, as usually fights with trash are made at a single position, with all players stacking (with the usual advantages/disadvantages of such tactics).
  • The warhorn is traited with “Quick Breathing”, which means you’ll be dispelling conditions for your group in an efficient way, also granting boons.
  • “Empower Allies’ can be traded for “Inspiring Battle Standards”, if other warriors happen to have it.

All in all, you end up with a build being quite supportive to the group, and doing some decent damage. In groups made of top players, the build will be inferior to a pure power build, because such players won’t need that much support (and would prefer a better overall DPS). In groups with less skilled players though, you may possibly bring much more value than a traditional power-based build.

Sadly, zerker builds will end up doing more damage than condi users, but I hope that will change in the future (both because zerker builds are getting a bit of a nerf and I hope that they return condi damage soon).

That being said, I use a Knight/Rabid build in PvE and haven’t gotten too many complaints. I do more fractals than dungeons, but it seems to work fine in both. I prefer the more tanky feel, but I’m sure you can go to pure Rabid to increase your condi damage. It’ll also lower your armor and your direct damage by a good amount though. I’m still trying to decide if sigil of bloodlust or corruption is better for my build.

You can try this with a S/S and change Shield Master to Dodged March, I just prefer a more tanky feel and I like the Sword/Shield fighting style. I usually keep my number 9 as Sigil of Stamina/Dolyak in PvE and Banner of Disc/Strength in Dungeons/Fractals. Also Battle Standard has it’s places in certain fights too.

I prefer Longbow to Riffle because you can help stack group might and it gives you access to another condition, which is good if there’s another condi user in the party. Furious also lets you keep near constant fire fields up or between 12-18 stacks of bleeds, peaking at about 24-25 if you keep using Flurry.
