Cooldown reduction for banners.
Are we ever getting it back or made baseline in some way? Just wondering.
The old post about banners never got replied to and it was never mentioned prior to the major patch either. I would like to know as well and it would be great to hear the reasoning behind this change.
Banners offer great party support.. but the 30s downtime for something you need to babysit, carry around, and be close to is lame.

At 4:21:40 Jon Peters explicitly promised that banner cooldown would either be added to the other banner trait or made baseline. I posted this several times already to exactly zero effect.
Don’t forget the larger area of effect that needs to go with the reduced cool down ;0
I will reply to every one of these threads that I see because I want to keep this topic alive and hopefully Anet will eventually listen. There was just no good reason to delete that trait and replace it with nothing. Every single set of utility skills basically got better with this patch, but banners got worse.
Are we getting it back? Most likely not. Warrior needs to be nerfed to the ground just because we have “high hp pool and armor” which by the way is U-S-E-L-E-S-S to condi spamming.
I hope we get it back in some form or another. I don’t see it as being OP since it buffs the entire party.
They forgot to add it. It’s our duty to remind them about it, so keep posting these threads.

really wish we could get this back. I loved carrying banners between fights. You get swiftness, a blast that won’t put you in combat, and fury/stability. Banners management was a skill worth having. Now they just get thrown down for one fight.

Agreed, I really enjoy all the utility that banners have to offer, especially in WvW but really anywhere you are playing in a group. People that just throw the banner down in a fight and then leave it there after the fight is over are only utilizing a fraction of the banner’s buffs. Heck, I’ve even found use for the silly #4 skill on occasion.
All Anet really needs to do is add the reduced cool down and larger radius to the existing trait: Inspiring Battle Standard. They don’t even have to delete another trait to make room for it, just add it to the Inspiring trait that we have in the Tactics line. Just like they combined all the shield buffs into one trait, so now the shield has reduced cool down, gives might, AND reflects missiles.
Wtb Banner range and cooldown reduction added to Inspiring Battle Standards, that’d be greaaaat.
And maybe even 250 hp added back to the 500 base lost from shouts.
