Q:
Crit DPS build Axe/Shield, viable in PvP?
You are glassy. 2700-3k armor is the sweet spot for decent toughness. I would not suggest the axe trait in Strength. It’s not worth it. Drop the embrace the pain and grab Dogged March. Will cut cripple, chill, and immobilize in half with your melandru runes. Deep strike isn’t a very good pick since you only have 2 signets and should be using them constantly. I would either go with Unsuspecting Foe for 100% crit on stun (shield bash + Eviscerate), rending strikes, or furious reaction.
My opinion.

Build is essentially a glass cannon as is.
IMO, if you want to do big bursts with evis but be tanky.
I would try to go heavy power, crit damage, toughness and vitality.
Then add Sigil of Intelligence to axe.
Then just Bola/CC, swap and evis for a guaranteed big crit, probably in the 7-8k range.
crit damage, toughness, vitality = cavalier gear then. Power can be found I think via bloodlust sigil.
I’d go with the balanced spec and get at least 20 in defense to up toughness and get dogged march and last stand. And run either Lyssa runes or Melandru with lemongrass.
Pick 10 in arms for the V trait, 10 in discipline for the V trait and put the rest in arms.
Lately though I’ve been trying 0 in strength and going with 30 defense. I have generosity on my hammer and bloodlust on my greatsword. Dogged March, Last Stand, and the Hammer trait.
Key though is leg specialist versus 10 in arms. Pretty nice having two range snares that converts to an immobilize.
I would like to take Golraeder’s Spartan build and tweak it to be viable for tpvp (assuming it’s not really or outshined by GSbuilds):
Would like to swap shield for warhorn and also pick up Leg Specialist (and then maybe Opportunist?).
