Dealing with Ranged?
I traited with leg specialist, bladetrail, hamstring, flurry can apply immobilize
Also avoid open area, always stick to environment which able to provide cover.
And remember if you have to go over a large open area, swap to rifle or longbow first…
I roll as a rifle main and 2 skill kill the baddies with a volley + 10-15k kill shot. But really, you should run something with more mobility in your other set. Rifle/Bow/GS even, you can either stay at range or close the gap.
1- rifle is an decent option vs ranger but not the best, cause he can dodge the fight if he lose
2 -sword main hand with an gap closer , slow and long imobilize, is an better option
3- best option , great sword, 2 mobility skills , 1 slow and strong hits
I found only 1 solution to for me to play as a full melee warrior (GS/sword-sheild + bull rush, signet of stamina + signet of rage)
- Swiftness
- 5 gap closers (Whirwind/Savage leap/Rush/shield bash/bull rush)
- take Shake it off to stop cripples/knockdowns
- lots of dodge evades (key is here + gap closers)
- Mobile strikes for stopping people from immobilizing you
Been loving the super high mobility of this build, give it a try. You literally can dance around any target. The key is to dodge attacks that you can predict coming. Your best friend is Whirlwind + savage leap (low cooldown leap + ww is a dodge), With fast hands, i abuse all gap closers to keep my target near me. Remember to cripple them to also make it hard for them to kite you. I personally run Balance stance over Shake it off, just my taste.
I’m eating all rangers I’ve met, some skilled ones are decent challenge but still..
PvP talking, WvW is not funny because 95% people I’m meeting are going to be 1v2ed or maybe 1v3ed by me to their death(WvW average skill level is so -_- compared to PvP, and gear differs too…)

If your adrenaline is full you can try and land a Kill Shot with the rifle to put you at an advantage (especially if your an Asura, we hardly even kneel when casting it so he wont see it comming!).
Then just rifle spam him to death
Hello guys, I play a ranger and I am feeling really good fighting vs warriors, I totally get how some warriors fall due not to being able to stick next to their target, in this case the ranger. Granted there are lots of us rangers who are still learning how to play the class well; for those of you who have faced death vs a pro ranger like myself, I can say that dying to a warrior is all about them applying those cap closers effeciently. It is extremely deadly to face a warrior who, aside from being tough, can pack a strong punch too and stay on your face the whole time.
Even tough I run a toughness/beast master ranger (what is that? I can take lots of punches and survive while my pet eats my enemy alive), warriors are very overwhelming face to face. So do open the fight with a few ranged attacks and when you are ready to charge, be aware of the large arsenal that rangers have at their disposal and how it all works. What can I say? Stability + constant gap closers + landing those hard hits = more pressure on the ranger than on the warrior. The good part is that, like I mentioned before, most rangers are still easy to kill… the class is really hard to master, so understanding what type of ranger you are fighting can give you an even greater edge.

If y have range weapon just shoot them back, if y don’t have it then make sure y got movement skill on 1 of your weapon (like sword leap, or greatsword whirlwind & rush) to catch up.
Simple rule is… try to not get slowed. This can be accomplished by dodging through the traps for the most part.
The advanced stuff would be catching them at the end of a dodge with an immobilize or a stun. Even then dueling a ranger is usually not the most ideal thing to do but I suppose this match up is a little more forgiving than lets say.. Warrior vs. Ele simply because of the fact that Rangers are punishable near the end of their dodge skills.
