Guild Wars 2

On the 6th chapter of the Personal story and my warrior is trying to clear out Risen in Reconnaissance. It’s just me, Traherne, and a few npc’s. As far as I know, warriors don’t have any way to summon allies. I was wondering what methods you have used to get through this chapter – be it as a lvl 60 (which wasn’t working for me at the time) or any higher lvl (which is where I am now).

Wow… it’s been a long time since I was level 60 or did that mission. Can you identify where in the mission you’re having trouble? (just give the time on this video)

I don’t remember having any trouble with the mission personally, but it looks to me like gs/a+sh or even gs/lb would work well on a power build.

Cluster the small groups up and unload with 100 Blades and Whirlwind Attack (using an obstacle to break line of sight and reduce ranged damage). GS would be your main damage dealer.

The shield would give you breathing room if things got heavy, but I think the bow might be better because with it you could just run around objects shooting your burst (F1) and Arcing Arrow (#3) behind you as the mobs chased you. Longbow #2 at point blank range also does a bunch of damage, and the blind on #4 is great too.

If you’re running condi, I’d expect longbow and sword would tear through that pretty quickly.

Be sure to have Adrenal Health going all the time (Defense Traitline).

I’m not even sure what my build is. I have a rifle as my main weapon right now. I’ll give it another go with your suggestions. Thanks!

I see. Tbh, I wouldn’t think rifle would be a very good weapon choice for the story line.

Greatsword is probably the best by a mile, and then your alt set would be to cover situations that your gs isn’t good for (e.g. bow for range and aoe, shield for block plus axe to keep your damage pressure up, etc)
