I’ve never seen anyone use the same build as me in tPvP, but I’m very happy with it.
To anyone who says warrir is weak I suggest you give it a try.

Way to play it: always use longbow f1, never eviscerate.
I haven’t been playing it too long, I was inspired by spectating another warr. I think some other sigils may be more useful but have yet to experiment :p

I have found this to be the most successful TPvP build to run atm. Very little sustainability and no condition removal, but because it is basically the CoF P1 farm build it deals insane damage. I decided I prefer bolas over bulls due to it’s lower cooldown and because the snare is long enough to pull off a full 100b if the target doesn’t have a cleanse. When the target is low switch to axe and shield then Shield Bash followed by Eviscerate, Unsuspecting foe means you will almost always crit and it’s a great finisher.

Build is simple but takes good timing to pull it off correctly. What makes you helpful to the team is that you can reach and kill your mob faster than most other builds and do it solo so your team can attempt the steal or getting more people to keep faster.

I find the suggested GS/axe+shield quick burst setup also to be the most viable, or the one that actually serves some purpose for warriors in spvp. I also think that a thief can pull off that same hit and run tactic much more reliably with a lot less risk.

I agree on the risk, we can still fulfill the roll and possibly do it faster than a thief but we have no real utility to speak of.

I’m trying this build.

My dream is to unify sustained damage with high survivability.

With sword, you get 27% + 5% sigil + 9% heightened focus + 10% blademaster+20% fury = 71% critical chance. Not bad for a toon with soldier’s amulet.XD

And you can maintain 5-8 stacks of might on average. And you have +25% critical damage. Not the highest you can get, but pretty significant.

With sword autoattack, you deal around 4k damage on heavy golem (2600 protection) every 1.5 seconds. It’s around 2.7k dps. With leap and mace knock down (which deals 2-3k damage) enemies have a hard time getting away from you.

This without considering bleeding.

With longbow, your autoattack deals around 1k damage per hit. It’s really useful for finishing retreating opponents. And Arcing arrow can deal 6k damage on lightest targets, making an excellent burst for cleaning up teafights.

I’m still unsure on many things, like whether putting Valkyrie or Soldier amulet, or whether using For Great Justice! or Banner of Discipline, but right now I like this build. Maybe only because it’s different from the others I saw.

This is what I’ve used for the past week or so. Seems pretty ok in teamfights, pretty good AoE and little better sustain.

A power sword and longbow build. Interesting. I like how you can still get a decent crit chance with the sword while having a lot of toughness. That seems to be the trade-off with most builds, you either get toughness or crit. I’ll have to test the damage when i get off work.

Does seem interesting. Probably play around with it later today. Going to switch out Dogged Marched for Leg Specialist, then shield instead of Mace. Maybe axe for more dmg and fury upkeep.

I really wouldn’t bother with Valkyrie ammy. Healing power doesn’t do that much for warriors unless you are a shout healing or banner build.

I know, I HATE that + healing power. But the toughness + crit damage could be useful (or at least, that was a possibility).

I tried with shield, axe and mace offhand. I think they are all viable, but I prefer the mace. I find it more amusing.XD

Those two do give you great upkeep. There is always a chance for your fury to be stolen, corrupted, or removed. So I’m just playing it safe.

Also this allows me to change out FGJ if need be.

I have become a big fan of sword/warhorn – horn #4 removes movement impairing conditions and grants swiftness – combined with savage leap you have excellent escape potential. I find this more advantageous than the shield stun and block – I notice a lot of you guys are taking shield though so I was just wondering about the rationale behind it vs. warhorn. I can see they can both be pretty good and it may come strictly down to preference.

I don’t think I need even more mobility. Lately I haven’t been kited much. I’d rather have a way to lock the enemy to land more sword damages.

And I don’t like the idea of escaping: even if I had the chance, I might just forget about it. And you already have almost perma swiftness from seal of rage. I tried with warhorn, first, but didn’t like it.

Mace is awesome this way: the #5 attack is an AoE knockdown, that deals heavy damage and is rather hard to predict. Some times I killed mesmers and thieves by leaping, kncoking them down and autoattacking them to death.

Here’s a tanky Greatsword—Mace/Shield, Shout build I’ve been running.

Basically you’re trying to stun/snare the enemy before going ham on them. The Mace stun can be tricky to land but if they don’t have their stunbreaker up you can swap to Greatsword to chunk their Health with Hundred Blades to immediately get them on the defensive.

“Fear Me” has been a life saver in most team fights and is fantastic at CCing the enemy off a bridge/cliff.

It’s a really balanced build but I find it a lot more fun than being a glass cannon.

Edit: For some reason the link is not displaying 30 traits

What it should be is:

30 – Strength … III … V … IX
10 – Arms … IV
10 – Defense … V
20 – Tactics … I … VIII

Plug these in to see what the stats come out to be if you want.

@Redslion
Props to you for that build. I played it today and made a few changes to suit my playstyle. I dropped For Great Justice and picked up the precision signet so I could occasionally use the longbow f1 on a point and get my adrenaline right back to full for the damage and crit.

To make up for the loss of fury from FGJ I took the fury and vigor talent in the first slot of the arms tree. I like to dodge a lot so vigor is good for me. I need to test how much it actually price with 3k armor and 25k hp though lol.

The mace offhand is definitely my favorite, but if your looking to have some fun in a hot join, try the axe lol. Drop the longbow f1 then use whirling axe for some nice aoe dmg and burning.

Well, mostly I just use Healing Surge right after I get ut of the spawn point. Most of the time I am eble to star a fight with full adrenaline and Healing Surge’s cooldown back up.

But actually with the signet I could use Longbow F1 without regret the loss of damage.XD

Axe rocks in hotjoin, but is tpvp you can get wrecked while spinning. And the ranged knockdown makes me feel like this:

Hahaha. Thats awesome. Yeah I wouldn’t recommend the axe offhand in tpvp. I was just having some fun aoeing whole teams down with the burning bolts in hot joins.

The build performs very well no matter what offhand you use. I played a couple tourneys last night and won both even against one premade team. At one point i got stuck defending a side-point against a bunker engi and after a long battle, i came out victorious. My survivability was ridiculous for still having 3k power and a high crit chance.

I’m testing this build now:

http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fIAQNAsZTjcOxwZPCPMxCEsAThi4yAAnCli2wOSFCDA-TsAA1CnIKSVkrITRyisFNsYZxkAA

Compared to the last one, we have almost same survivability (less armor, but more HP means we take almost the same hits to go down, if not more)

BUT we have banner of discipline. Its boon lasts 95 seconds. Its cooldown is 96 seconds. That means we’ll have the bonus almost permanently.

Banner skills also give us fury on a lower cooldown (we can apply it more often if it gets ripped) AND swiftness. Considering this is a roamer build, we need it a lot.

But the best thing are the bonuses: 170 precision (+ 9% critical chance: we now reach 80% crit chance with sword and 65% with longbow) and 15% critical damage bonus. Now I reach 40% crit damage bonus.
The same as most GS builds.
Yeah, we are rocking the damage stats of a glass cannon.XD

I tried it in tourneys last night. I’m an awful player, so I got a bit confused in many fights (many people running around me, mesmers everywhere, while rangers unleashing hell upon me = I could hardly tell where I was XD). But the damage is very good (slicing through HGH engies… AWWW YEAH!). But alas, on random joins, I never got in a team with a bunker, so I never had the occasion to shine (we are nice bunker buddies!^^).

But I noticed a problem: I often leave banner on the ground and forget it. Many times I ran to defend a point and then turned back half way to take the banner. Luckily nobody whispered me to give me the insults I deserved.XD

Maybe one day I’ll learn.
