The Ranger’s Longbow was unanimously complained about from launch onward as feeling very weak. Whether people realized it or not, the main culprit was a poorly tuned firing rate on Long Range Shot (the #1 skill) which resulted in severely crippled sustained DPS on top of its rather poor utility. A couple of patches ago, the firing speed of Long Range Shot was buffed by about 20%, and consequently the Longbow feels a lot better than it used to.

The Warrior’s Longbow is typically not regarded as being weak, mostly because it has much better utility than the Ranger’s Longbow ever did. However, just like with Long Range Shot, Dual Shot has always been painfully slow for the amount of damage it does and that makes the Longbow hard to use effectively outside of certain situations. The aftercast on Dual Shot needs to be reduced by .25 seconds just as it was on Long Range Shot. That would result in significantly higher sustained DPS and make the weapon feel a lot more usable in general situations without doing anything to make it OP.

agreed, the longbow is in a good place right now. it does its thing and does it well

now we need to address the rifle. its utility is practically none existant. and its auto attack tries to do two separate things at once that totally conflict with its burst.

not to mention its number 4 skill is completely worthless

The only problem with reducing the aftercast on Longbow is the already superior adrenaline gain of (2x hits) Longbow autoattack over Rifle autoattack.

If anything the cast-time/aftercast on Rifle needs to be reviewed first.

Rifle needs a buff.
More damage for #1 skill – take out the bleed.

If here they fall they shall live on when ever you cry “For Ascalon!”

if they removed the bleed from the auto attack (buffing the damage to compensate) and moved [crack shot] to the discipline tree then i think that alone might be enough to make the rifle viable

granted something needs to be done with the no. 4 skill brutal shot.

1 second cast time for a few stacks of vulnerability just isn’t that good a deal. it needs more utility.

1. Bleeding shot – make it the same as harpoon gun 1:
0-400 range current damage, 400-800 +50% from current, +800 a +100% dmg from current. Remove bleed.
Its actually makes sense as rifle is a range weapon after all, and has counter – getting closer to us.

2. Aimed shot – double its damage at range 400 or lower. (Personally i still think that its should apply chill but leave the cripple as it is)

3. Nerf base damage of volley by 20%. Reduce co-efficients by 0.25% (current 3.00), reduce casttime by 0.50 .
I think its neccessary due to buffing #1 and 2.

4. Brutal shot – increase cd to 18sec, reduced casttime to 3/4, 1sec stun, keep vul, a bit easier to see animation to see its coming from miles to keep it balanced. I see it as set up skill

5. Rifle butt – change to launch.
People definitely recovers too fast from knockback to increase distance a bit from them.

F1 – Our master, mr Killshot:
-reduce base damage by 20%
-reduce co-efficients by 0.25% (lets face it, it scales too good in current state. Current 3.25 at lv3)
-reduce casttime to 3/4sec
-add a target icon on foe from “on my mark” shout for casttime
