Defektive + K Pop Guide: Taking votes!
Condi/physical build = mace/sword + sword/mace. Distracting strikes, all physical utilities. Rabid.

Is there a list of general ideas to choose from?

Please do a good hammer build for spvp or your sw/mace mace/shield (think that’s the one) I’ve seen you play in tpvp.
Currently I am running your bow sw/shield and it has made me fall in love with my warrior and gw2 again.
Mace build +1
Hammer build +1
Hybrid DPS +1
I want a greatsword build, something with a greatsword that will be good in the meta! :P I miss my GS so much…
Longbow GS build!!
Heavy Longbow dmg for team fight and GS 100b your face if someone focus me or rez!!!
I vote for a series!!! Just make them all and pump them out weekly/bi-weekly/monthly, whenever. Start off with what you’re most familiar with then make your way to less popular builds. You guys are theory-crafters and big warrior figures. This would definitely help your fan base. I know I’d appreciate something warrior based that would release content consistently. GL fellas.
Whichever one you used tonight.
I’d love to see a guide on any melee build that specifically mentioned how to avoid being kited by thieves and mesmers and how you dealt with mesmers in general, really.
Hammer Build
How to counter the blind spam
How to 1v1 a mesmer
This is what i’m most interested about, thanx!
R.I.P. my beloved Meh-Mer, the most hated class by ANET itself.
Winner of the first HxH 1v1 tournament! WOOT!
How to counter the blind spam
Oh yeah, this would be great, too. Especially how to deal with constant blind application on Mace or Hammer.
The mace/shield + sword/mace build you have used on your stream interests me.
A)Hammer Hybrid Build
B)Rifle build
c) Sword/ Bow
Hammer and X/Warhorn
Try and find some use in the two most underused weps

Add another vote for hammer.
Mace build +3
Hammer build +6
Hybrid DPS +1
Greatsword +1
Longbow +3
Rifle +1 (tbh I prob won’t do this one, but I’ll see if Bry can since he likes it).
People also would like to see some guides vs specific classes (Mesmers, Thiefs), I think I can make that happen this weekend.

Hammer-GS or M/Sh – GS
I’m personally loving the Mace/Shield and Sword/Mace and would like to see more ideas from other people on how they run theirs and why.
Hammer is cool, but I think for tPVP Mace is the best control weapon we have. Hammer’s swings are still too slow and too telegraphed, the stuns on Mace are much quicker with much smaller tells.
Just for the hell of it – here’s my take on the build http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=-sFBCx;0VKkP0d4cLVQ0;9;59T9J;13;018A0;027-4RF2S;1CoF2CoF26BW
I feel my sustain is very very good while still having very great constant DPS with some nice spiking with Final Thrust when they get low. I went for max control by throwing 10 into Tactics for Leg Specialist. With the new sword cripples this is really amazing in addition to all the Mace CC.
I can 1v1 most offensive players as well. A good bunker Guard is just too much for my damage to burn down, but Necros, Thieves, Engineers are all pretty badly messed up by this build….and with what’s currently running around everywhere that’s a really good thing. Mesmers are the hardest due to so many stun breaks.

Hammer build i like playing in hot join, and having good succes with.
Perfect to lock a target down, and lauch the nasty earthshaker every 7sec.
Vizunah Square
I appreciate people coming in here and wanting to share their builds, but I’d like to keep the conversation more focused on the Warrior guide.
Specifically what play style they’d like to see.
Right now a Hammer / Mace control style is the most favorable. Keepem comming, K Pop and I will review the submissions.
If people really want a GS / Longbow style or Rifle then we can easily get BryBry or Tarcis to do those types since thats the style they prefer to play.
I’d personally like to see a guide on dealing with good blind spamming thieves. Generally they are of the x 30 30 x x variety. The fights generally go something like this. Thief attacks me, blinded, thief auto attacks, blinded again, thief stealth/kites, thief re-engages, blinded again, thief auto attacks, blinded again. The only way I have found to deal with this is by bringing a ranged weapon (and even that doesn’t always work), and I personally think we have enough ranged damage in this game and really wish there was another way to deal with it.

The trick against a mesmer and thief is die fast so you will respawn faster.
I think that warrior are only ready for all that comes, with LB + S/WH.
Focus in heavi condition, high tough and crit chance with average raw power.
Lisa + Rabid + Acuraci/Earth + something for your choice.
Utilities for your choice.
This is the only good style for warrior against other classes. Only this way you will be able to kill a mid skiled player(no warrior) without help of team players or monsters.

The correct answer to blind spam is probably going to be “Berserker’s Stance”. What I’d like to know is what to do if they just kite you for the 8s then resume doing their blind spam thing.

Your assuming their intelligent.
I’ll do a video tonight or tomorrow showing how to deal with Blind Thiefs from a control build standpoint.
They are much harder to deal with the glassier you get because your margin for error drops as you have less toughness and HP.
Mesmer is a little bit different but still has a similar feel to playing against a thief.
Id loveeeeeeee a hammer / mace build. I feel right now warriors best thing going for them is thier control. With your wxpert knowlege defektive hammer is and will be very viable!
The problem I’m seeing with going hammer/mace is that you’ll be as immobile as a guardian but with much less survivability. At least with Hammer/Sword and leg specialist you’ll have a gap closer outside of Earthshaker and Hamstring/Savage leap cripple can help set up Final Thrust. Sword also gives you a fast auto attack combo so when they’re in stability you can focus on pure damage and not mace/hammer’s painfully slow auto attack.
I’m trying to find a way to include Fear Me and Shake it Off in my build because when it comes to clearing a point few skills are as good as Fear Me, it’s also great for setting up Earthshaker/Backbreaker.
Also, with hammer finding the right balance between Power and survival is tricky because if you’re too squishy any misses are devastating, but if you’re too tough you’ll never kill anything. Now in team fights you may not need too but I think you should still be able to hold your own in a 1v1.

I find I’m having a much easier time running warrior’s sprint.
The problem is you have to trick your enemy into fighting you on your terms, and that isn’t always easy.
Second, your efficiency is mostly in 1v1 fights: Skull Crack is one of themain strength of this build, but it’s only single target.
Third, to get the maximum damage you can get, you have to make a perfect rotation, (e.g.: using your high damage skills while the opponent is stunned). This means you have less attention to use for the battle around you. When people bring their armies of pets, minions and AoE spam, it’s gonna be a tough fight.
From my limited experience as a bad stunlock warrior, your best fights are the small ones on side nodes. Or the cannon in Skyhammer. Here, cc is also a defensive mechanism, because the enemy won’t fight back during that period.
On the upside, I think mace burst is more reliable than final thrust. And it’s instant, meaning it’s almost unavoidable (and you can stop a kitten thief spamming evades).

Ah allow me to clarify, while I love the playstlye as a hammer because I used it in GW1 (I so miss being the Anti-Mage class), but in GW2 it is far too easily countered. I use Mace/Shield+GS now. It gives you both CC and mobility, allowing you to stay close and more importantly lock down a Necro or Engi so they can’t spam condis on your allies. I really want to be able to use Hammer because it’s my favorite weapon, it has its uses but atm Mace is far more reliable.
Old Man Burr (War), Bad Hat Ben (Engi), Manly Manny Manson (Guard)
I use both hammer and mace. It’s a bit extreme in both ways. Monster-like stuns and monster-like lack of mobility.
Each fight is either hopeless for you or for the enemy. No half-ways. No close fights.
I tried to play mace/shield and Greatsword. I like the idea, but when I play it I don’t like it, and at some point I just surrender and walk into death (talking about hotjoin, maybe tournaments are less frustrating).
But yeah, I know how frustrating hammer can be, too.xD
because he doesn’t know it himself
When do you think we can expect to see the results?! also, will it be in this thread or a new one? Ive been really into the adrenaline rising videos and excited to see some builds!
I think you should make the guides on the build types you like most. Or the ones who caught your attention.
More than on single builds, on build concepts.

Sometime this week, waiting for K Pop to get on to hit me up so we can start this.
Will probably make a new thread or update this, IDK yet.
My vote goes to Hammer.
As for what jives well with the Hammer for a secondary weapon I’m really not sure. In WvW I’m always juggling situationally. Hard to find a secondary weapon set to lock into for Hammer.

I’m a big fan of Hammer / Sword, Shield.
Immobolize is a great tool for setting up hammer stuns. Shield stun also helps set up Hammer stuns.
Shield stance is great for those moments when you know a burst is coming (shatter burst for example).
And the leap ofc for escapes.
I found myself building more for damage when I’m running Sw/Sh because of the reasons listed above.
However for WvW and sPvP pairing Hammer with something like Rifle or Longbow can be detrimental since you suddenly lack close range pressure or an escape.
For that reason, I know a lot of WvW guys like Hammer / GS. Can’t do it in sPvP though we don’t have the stat allocations for it unfortunately.
I have been running Hammer + Axe/Shield most of the time in WvW (have to admit I don’t PvP on my warrior all that much). Only swapping to LB when range is needed. In lieu of Savage Leap I usually end up escaping with Bull’s Rush.
I have yet to play with your LB + Sw/Sh build in PvP/WvW, but it looks like a reliable way to deal with Blind spam which I believe is currently one of the biggest gripes among Warriors.
Either way I’m looking forward to the guide.
i’d like to see that mace/shield + sword/mace build

I saw a screenshot of the stream and I’m 90% certain he’s running something like this (all the stats are the same as the screen):

It’s a good build for the role of applying CC and locking people down, although I can’t say I enjoy the playstyle that much personally.

Hammer for sure, also Longbow
I run a Hammer/Mace/Shield build and its effective with cleansing ire and berserker’s stance. I’ve done it enough so I really want to see a non stun type build used effectively because I can’t seem to get there at the right competitive level.
I really want to see the longbow used well; I realize you’ve done this before I believe? Just haven’t seen it in detail.
Or, to another extreme, trying to use physical utilities as a means to win. Curious if it can ever work without having some condition removals or no berserker stance in utility line.
I vote for Aoe/Control
Hammer + Longbow
Burst usage and mastering weapon swaps is key
Decent defense with the capability of pressuring a point from any range
For a guide, make sure you mention small details that others may not know, such as specific combo fields, or skill canceling. (depending on your weapon choice, leap/blast finishers into allies light fields / fire fields / water fields) You would be surprised how many people don’t know the effects.
The professions/builds you face, which ones to target first and burst using the build you decide to choose. (like 3-2-1ing a monk in GW1! or pressuring an enemy frontline to protect your backline…too bad that doesn’t exist in GW2 though)
i’d like to see that mace/shield + sword/mace build
I’d like to see that also

Another vote for this…
How about you guys show a Condi Warrior build, everyone thinks that they can’t work because the conditions get cleansed by any decent cleanser, blah blah blah (unless I’m some godly player who can beat all the frequent duelers on the server, which I’m not, condi spec warriors are legit).. I’m trying to break this notion myself, and since you guys represent the warrior forum, I think you guys would do a better job since I don’t have a lot of time, just knowledge and some skill. You don’t have to use my build, but its something to go by and its the best one I’ve found.
Hybrid sword/shield or sword/sword and LB.
