…all the time? (Topic title is too long etc..)

I have mine equipped all the time,I use Sword/Shield – Longbow ,but I think it isn’t optimal to have a ranged weapon equipped all the time,I think I’m kinda becoming lazy to go to the front line and just stay back using F1+3 combo.

I usually do World Bosses,and yeah,you can do this with just about anything,but I’m becoming a lot more interested in WvW and I think the Longbow isn’t optimal,at least,I’ve never seen a Warrior using it in WvW.

Should I swap my Longbow to a Hammer maybe?

PS: I’ll not change my Sword/Shield,I love it,even if it isn’t the best combo for WvW I think,but…the White Knightness in Sword+Shield is just too cool do pass up

To answer your question. No I dont.
You should however carry a longbow in your inventory.
You should also get a warhorn. Easy access to swiftness in WvW.

Keep your inventory with the warhorn in reach somewhere at the edge of the screen. Shrink it down if you must. And just swap your shield with the warhorn if you have to cover longer distances by foot.

Hammers are very good in WvW. You’ll notice how many players seem to have never heard of stability. Stunlock ftw.
And be at ease. Sword + shield with a hammer as a secondary weapon is a great combination. Much like GS/Hammer. You’ll find plenty of builds on your own with little research.

I ran Sw+Sh / Hammer for the longest time myself now. Just yesterday I finally crafted my ascended Greatsword. Post patch the greatsword is most likely going to be better!

I use the LB in wvsw, but I’m a hybrid build and I use direct and condition damage both.
With a common build is better a sw+wh/hammer build. But I use Sw+Wh(or shield or offhand-axe, in different situations and groups) and Longbow as secondary weapon. That why I can attack from range who stay on walls, do AoE damage, give a firefield to my allies (might, fire aura and burn) and if I need a moment to restore my hp I can go out of the zerg and fight ranged for all the time I want. And Longbow skill 5 inflict Immobilize, good to fight a thief, a ele or a enemy that try to flee or enter in a tower. Immobilize an enemy into a good zerg and see he die XD

There’s a lot of different build aviable in wvsw. Melee, Ranged, CC, Bunker, Supporter, whit a Warrior you can do everything. (exept be a healer for your allies, but you can give them regeneration)
All depend to your playstile, your team and the situation.

I’ve make a personal build with Celestial and I’m the only one that use it. But I like it very much. it’s not the best build ever, but give support and have good self-heal, hp and toughness, condi clean skills, good mobility and good direct and condition damage. I can stay ranged whit LB or melee whit Sword+X.

If you want you can look for a pre-made build for wvsw or make one by yourself. And make a personal build is more funny than play with the build of someone else ;-)

I use LB in WVW. When not in combat, it is briefly exchanged for warhorn just long enough for #4.

No, I usually only run melee, since dps is everything and ranged is inferior. But there are a few fights where you have to be ranged (HOTW1 for example).
