Some people run it, but I don’t think it’s optimal. If you’re thinking about it for the Axe Mastery trait, don’t. Berserker’s Power would be the superior trait to take.

How do you define “worth it”? And which game modes are you playing?

I have tried to make it work but it just doesn’t. Axe off hand provides nothing aside for being able to tag targets. if you want something to pair with greatsword,

best options:
axe/shield
sword/shield
hammer

also works:
axe/mace
axe/sword
sword/mace
sword/sword
longbow
rifle

Mace main hand also but I’m not a fan of it. Pretty much anything but axe offhand.

In dungeons, the off-hand axe skills LOWER your dps compared to auto-attacking. Use off-hand mace instead for vulnerability stacks and defiance removal. Longbow is suboptimal for dungeons as well (the nerf was mostly important for pvp).

If you want to really help out your team with high dps and might stacks, go Greatsword + Axe/Mace with the Phalanx Strength trait. Here’s a link to the build: http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Warrior_-_Phalanx_Strength

I currently use axe/WH. I would recommend using either double axe, or my build.

No reason to use Axe off-hand in PvE except if you like the style. The skill 4 and 5 have less dps than your auto-attack. Mace is a better choice, but if you go with PS Warrior build you won’t be using much of your Axe/Mace. You start with it to stack vulnerability, but after that you pretty much camp GS for the remaining of the fight.

I think the only place to take offhand axe is Vulcanic fractal – to quickly lower enemy shield stacks.
Also you can use it at begining of fight to quickly build adrenaline.

Still prefer bow. Bow seems bad secondary weapon, but it allows you to kite and regen health, while damaging. Useful in bad PUGs.
