I have some questions, I currently use a Dual Axe Crit Burst build. And since I am doing a Crit build, I should use Precision.
But one thing I want to know is if I should use Full Precision-Crit Equips, or Precision-Another stat.

If you are just going for burst, then probably all berserkers gear. You’ll die pretty easily though.

Yeah, but what I want is to know what stats to put with precision.

Well, berserkers is power, precision, and crit damage, everything needed for the cannon part of ‘glass cannon’.

Mind also telling us what you’ll use that build for? sPvP? Farming? WvW? Dungeons?

I recently started using a high damage dual-axe build. Nearly all of my gear is berserkers which gives the most appropriate stats for axes (high power, good precision, crit damage). Keep in mind that even if you are at 100% critical chance, without power to support those swings your damage will be lacking. My preference therefore, is to have a “good” precision stat but to put more emphasis on power.

While the damage is great for a build like this, a high level of awareness is required if you want to stay alive. I’m talking about exploration dungeon runs here, where much damage is avoidable however being melee means you’ll eventually take hits regardless. If you find you’re being downed too often, it’s reasonable to add in some power/vitality/toughness equipment.

I’d like to know why there has to be a choice between dps stats and survival stats on gear? I see no reason why all the necessary stats for being a melee damage dealer are not on the gear pieces. I can see them having varying degrees of how much of toughness/vitality you get on primary dps gear versus how much power/precision you get on more tank oriented gear, but why is there literally no toughness/vitality on so much of the dps gear? The current formula apparently limits the gear to 3 primary stats, but this seems a bit off for melee…since you are guaranteed to be taking more damage in melee range.

Probably because then thieves would have more health and toughness to go along with their instagibbing and stealth, and the bunker builds would now be doing kitten damage on top of being unkillable.

if i were you, i would go with full knight setup along with zerker gems or runes to boost critical damage. Also full dps traits, like str/prec/discipline.

That way you should be about 2400armor, which is not all that bad and still deal more damage than you need.

Crit damage>Power>Precision in terms of adding dps. I agree with seithan.4823 about the Knights gear to give a bit of toughness for at least the armor. You will lose 16% crit damage but gain a little bit of survivability.

I like full knight gear: toughness/precision/power. Warriors have already good vitality, so you can stack a ton of toughness while still having a respectable damage output. Now you won’t get instagibbed in pvp, you can do solo pve content comfortably, and you still have nice damage with a lot of crits. Your crits won’t do that much, but a crit still means +50% of normal, and you get full use from on-crit weapon sigils.

If you want to play pure pvp though, you shouldn’t be a warrior. You won’t beat anyone one vs one, but with a bow and some banners or shouts, especially the elite banner, you’ll still be able to be valuable in group wvw. The high toughness will drastically lower your repair bills there too. I’d always put 10 points in tactics for 1200 bow range.. in wvw it’s just too nice putting burns on a huge area with the bow burst skill, and with the bow you can hang back so you don’t die in the zerg.
