Dual Axe WvW auto attack issue
It’s not just WvW. Auto-attack has this thing where even though you CAN hit them if you swing manually, it won’t keep attacking because it thinks they’re out of range.
Thanks for the clarification. Glad its not just me.
Create the habit of mashing the 1 button and facing where people are, the auto attack system has a much smaller angle than what you’re capable of hitting with. The side benefit is that you can chose to hit more targets this way. The negative is that unless you have a target selected you will not be able to use your burst or number 3.
Actually you can use your burst and #3 without a target selected….but good luck hitting with it if so.

Well, I think the auto attack calculate your range at the beginning of the attack (or potential attack). Which means, that if you move, even a bit, the hit will actually land (if done manually). Granting that we move a lot in WvW, you gotta mash the #1.
I think that the calculation at the beginning should be reconsidered (adding potential extra range from move ?).
I find that even standing still (test on yellow critters) the red ‘out of range’ bar can be lit up, but there’s a range where you can still hit. Autoattack seems to be detecting range in the same way that bar is, I think. Maybe it’s based on the distance to the very centre of their hitbox or something? idk.
Yea, it sounds logic that the red bar and auto attack is related. They’re probably based on the same calculus. Though it seems strange while standing still too. Or maybe that’s a result of the attack not being straight, like ranged, but in a cone ?
I think I might add it to the warrior bug compilation.
I mash #1 just to be safe. Good habit to get into imo.

Thats all well and good but it results in you not getting your double chop and triple chop.
Doesn’t the second skill just replace the first one (etc.) on the bar after you’ve hit them?
Not from what I have experienced.
It does providing you keep hitting with them. One mash of 1 with no enemies in range and the chain will reset.
On one hand you’re doing damage, though maybe not optimal damage vs no damage at all?
While you’re doing damage without a target the game still allows you to target someone (‘Tab’ for next target, ‘C’ for closest) so you can get proper chains. AN was nice enough to have the default keybinds on a single hand, tho I guess it does cause a bit of twister to go on.
