Dual Shot on the Longbow, like the Ranger’s Long Range Shot, has always had a very slow rate of fire for the damage it deals. It single-handedly makes me avoid using Longbow much because having a weak autoattack makes it only work situationally.
What I’m curious about is why they finally identified this as a problem and corrected it with Long range Shot but didn’t touch Dual Shot. I can’t help but assume it’s a dumb oversight. Anet, please reduce the aftercast on Dual Shot to .25. Thanks.
When my dual shot crits “bot hit combined do about 1.9k damage.” With the range increase this makes the auto attack good enough and the long bow a really good weapon over all. The only change I would make is making the kitten AoE’s fly faster to their target point.
