You’ll need toughness somewhere if you run survivability at all. Vitality is not enough, and is mainly to survive heavy conditions.

I mean, some people run glass cannon in dungeons and are fine, and it seems like you’re doing that just with a bit less crit% and a bit of vitality.

Also, if you have berserker’s power (strength trait), you’ll do more damage -not- spamming the burst skill on the GS.

Try it out. It seems like it’s basically a glass cannon build that can survive two extra hits.

You will probably see better results running Emerald trinkets and I run Knight’s weapons (power/precision/toughness).

Well. I run Pow/Tough/Vit armor and Pow/Prec/Crit Dmg jewelery and I specced 20/30/0/0/20. I run berserker/knight’s weapons depending on which set I use. With this setup I get 48% base crit, 3000 power, 2500 armor, and 20k hp. I do plenty of damage and I survive longer than a lot of other people. I think this setup is getting a lot out of warrior stats, though it may not be “optimal”.

Are you sure you specced 30 into Arms? You should definitely getting a higher crit% with that and berserker’s armor.

Also, there’s a trait in the strength line (I think) called Berserker’s Power, which gives extra % damage depending on which level of adrenaline you’re at. Most offensive warrior builds run it. It’s very powerful, and since the GS burst is pretty useless anyway, you’d be doing more damage just keeping your adrenaline up.

As Thirsty said, Some warriors run full Knight’s gear. Pow/Prec/Tough is quite nice, even if you do lose some crit damage. Toughness scales better and will make you take less damage overall, and you get a high crit chance. You could try knight’s armor and berserker trinkets or vice versa.

I mainly play WvW, so your results may vary depending, but if you still don’t like any of the offensive specs (if you don’t know what traits to get, I can point you in some directions), you can run one of the shout heal builds that are so popular on the forums nowadays. You’ll need to run your traits and armor completely differently, though.

try knights armor with runes of the pack and beryl trinkets, I do this and still hit 70% crit chance 72 crit damage + 3100+ attack and defense, well over 20K hp

also i prefer 20/25/25/0/0 with the GS in WvW or harder dungeons if im gonna use it

5% of your high toughness gets added back to power, theres also a food that lets you add a %age of toughness to power

Umm, I run Berserker armor + ruby jewelry (or berserker jewelry if you want).
10/20/0/20/20
Signet of rage and For great justice shout for perma fury.
At full adrenaline: 12% dmg bonus, 9% crit chance from a discipline trait, Healing surge for 8.4k (much better than signet).
Banner of discipline for extra precision and 10% more crit dmg.
I have 20 points in vitality for warhorn condition removal and improved banners.
Also the boon duration buff helps alot with perma fury.

It is a glass cannon build… sort off… but is working out great. Usually I finish an explorable dungeon with 0-2 damaged pieces.
There’s great condition removal from warhorn skills, Signet of stamina and Signet of rage (with 6 runes of Lyssa) that keeps me alive and my groupmates happy (80% uptime on swiftness and vigor).

If the boss hits too hard in melee, I switch GS for rifle and “X” trait in discipline tree for “VII”. I used to keep a condition dmg armor set and jewelry for this case specifically, but then I realised that rifle does some pretty good dmg with a crit/crit dmg build.
Screw the condition dmg.
Axe/warhorn as switch at all times.

TLDR: fully buffed I have 86% crit chance and 82% crit dmg along with good survivability… and that is only with rare jewelry so there is room for improvement.

Edit: Oh, and one more thing… I don’t run exp dungeons with pugs… I’m not suicidal enough to do that with a glassy build.

If you want a mix of some survivability and berserker use the following:
The tradeoff for 1% of crit damage is equal to:

5 stat points – upgrade slot of trinkets and backpack
10 stat points- traits (not an equipment, but listed for comparison)
12 stat points – glove, shoulder and boots
12.8 stat points – 1H weapons and amulet
13.33 stat points – Earring
14 stat points – Backpack (rare version from guild armorsmith)
14.22 stat points – 2H weapons
14.4 stat points – Coat
16 stat points – Ring, helm and legging

I run knights rings, helm, leggings, and coats to get the most amount of toughness for the least amount of lost crit damage. I replace the jewels in the knights rings with exquisite ruby.

I have 94% crit damage, 82% crit chance (with 3 stacks of adrenaline), and 93% crit chance with 25 stacks of precision. I also rarely die because you have the ability to do 4 dodges in a row with my build and omnomberry pies/ghosts are amazing with this build.
