I spend a lot of time tPvPing, there are a few times I say to myself:
“Nope not entering that fight with my weapons I won’t be a ton of help, gunna go help at another point.”

Now I’ve always carried weapons around to help me move quicker. Such as a warhorn for swiftness, or 1hand sword for the leap. Then quickly swap back to my ‘real’ weapons in prep for combat.

Yet a lot of my traited skills are linked together. Doing +X damage, or gain quickness under X conditions. etc. etc.

So I’m going to start bringing every weapon with me.

Rifle for when I’ll be a smoldering rubble if I enter a huge fight as a glass cannon.

A hammer for fighting mesmers.

1Handed Sword for fighting bunkers.

And I’m simply going to swap them out as the fight is needed.

Thoughts?

I feel that it is a legit strategy. ColdTurkey has been doing that as well and while I am testing builds almost constantly I haven’t attempted this myself. I think that the point is, choose your weapon based on the scenarios you may be entering during the match.

Well, if you can pull it off efficiently and time things well, undoubtedly it would improve the warrior’s usefulness.

However, with poor timing and inefficient use of it, you will find yourself caught with your pants down and unable to do anything about it until you’ve either died or escaped.

I have always been bad at micromanaging, so opening up an inventory, swapping items, switching traits, and changing skills would probably make me less effective in the long run.

On a semi-permanent basis(probably what you’re talking about) it’s a lot more viable and less involved. Where you might reset your setup once in a match(or when the strategy changes) because you know what you’re up against or have a specific goal in mind. I imagine this is almost a necessity for warriors in high level tPvP.

We can always wish for a third weapon swap

Yeah, I do it also. Extra ability to adapt to various situations will make you more useful and also more likely to survive when you otherwise wouldn’t – it’s a no brainer. Just keep in mind that you could be ambushed at any second with the wrong weapons equipped…

I play Warrior, Guardian, Elementalist and Thief.

Good move in my opinion, warrior has a lot more options just by swapping weapons out. I mostly do pve now, and it works wonders there as well.

It’d work in tpvp to a degree as you can work out what you’re facing before you fight.

Spvp it won’t as it’s zergy.

WvW the same, too many variables.

I recently made a thread encouraging people to do this.

Why do you think the Warrior has the most weapon choices? It’s because you’re supposed to do this.
