Everything the Warrior Needs!
I would like to see the warrior GS skill 5 be a leap, like the guardian leap, instead of a charge.
New Healing mechanic:
Healing per damage done. 1% of damage done to targets converted to healing no your self/group then take it from there to achieve a good balance.
This way you utilize the warriors dps into something useful and help us last against condition classes.
Introduce gap closing mechanic:
Thieves have shadow step with no cooldown on their sword though they don’t need it with the stealth mechanic and 25% movement speed. The least that can be done is give us a fast gap closer on all melee weapons. The buggy GS 5 won’t do. It is very slow, can be interrupted or dodged. It is also buggy. Give us a ground target AOE gap closer like shadowstep. Introduce pulls such as scorpion wire.
introduce 3rd or ranged weapon set:
Eles have 4 and Engys have up to 4. This won’t be a game breaking mechanic and will increased the skill cap for the class and make it more versatile.
Introduce Warrior forms:
Being Able to switch forms during combat helps with increasing complexity to class and rewarding skilled play.
Suggestions off the top of my head for forms:
Will revitalize the class increasing its player base.
Form X: increasing all damage dealt and reducing all damage received by X%.
Form Y: increasing all condition damage dealt and reducing all condition damage received by X%.
Form Z: Helpful for ranged or helpful for being mobile.
Or just defensive form, offensive form, mobile form.
Add useful reactive buffs: Stability or protection:
We need protection. Toughness/vitality melts against burst dps/condi as opposed to protection. Eles, guardians and rangers are more tanky than us. Don’t be afraid to balance the scales.
New Debuffs:
Your criticals immobilize. Snare is useless as it can be dodged out of etc. Chill as well. Weakness on critical.
Something turns out OP? Hey..np..nerf it back. Whats the worst that can happen? Warriors get a spot light like mesmers/guardians/thieves since launch?Eles? etc.

1. SUSTAIN STILL SUCKS
We lack it. We need it. Suggestions:
A. Warrior heals for each strike of adrenaline earned (excluding skills like zerk stance)"
B. Healing Signet buff, passive + active
C. Access to Protection via Defense tree and Shield offhand2. BANNERS STILL SUCK
Not cause the effects are bad, but cause they’re clunky to use, like most ground items.
A. Change them to work like an engineer toolkit. Toggle on/off. Wont affect 1-5.
B. When toggled on, F4 activates specific ability (Banner 3)
C. When toggled on, F3 activates inspire (Banner 2)3. BURSTS STILL SUCK
Some burst skills are solid (Hammer) others never see use (Greatsword).
A. The bad ones need to be reworked.
B. A new burst skill based on OFFHAND (or twohanded) added to F2 for more options and variety.4. TRAITS SYNERGY SUCKS
Our traits often function poorly together or not at all (with a few exceptions). They need a pretty large overhaul to get them to a perfect state.5. WEAPON BALANCE STILL SUCKS

I really don’t need to go into why, do I? No? Good. Suggestions:
A. Using a burst skill breaks stun or removes 2 conditions if there was no stun
B. Mending: Heal and remove all conditions, curing an additional ~800 Health per condition removed (essentially identical to necro skill)

Agree with everything. Only point 3 a bit less, because to me all burst skills have their uses, except for the greatsword one which sucks.
Those changes are just awesome and I think it would get warrior’s some powers for PvP, and btw banners are just useless in PvP , every warrior will agree.
But let’s face it , do you really think Anet will do all of those changes ? I don’t think so ,here are 2 reasons :
-Some random warrios will come and tell you get some skills instead of QQ (because for them warrior is just like any other class and balanced) while we all know that Warriors are way underpowered.
-Anet will never do those changes because it takes time/work, and since you asked for a Warrior F2 (which I really want too..) some other classes will come crying too like theif who has an F1 only and thus , bringing more work to Anet.

Condition Removal:
Gaining a bar of Adrenaline converts a condition into a boon.
This should be a grandmaster defensive trait. Why? Because we need more active NOT burst condition removal. This trait would require skill and already has its own cool-down in itself, to clear your adrenaline you would need to hit with your burst.
Stance Switching (Forms.)
Each form has its own animations.
Defense Form: Increases Damage Reduction, Reduces Damage. Makes the Warriors animations more defensive.
Offensive Form: Increases Damage taken, Increases Damage. Makes the Warriors animations more offensive.
Balanced Form: Increases Damage Reduction, Increases Damage. Has the same animations as they do now.
The different animations alone will make warriors harder to predict.

I like the protection idea.
My take on that idea.!
Buff the shield block to give like… 3 or 4 seconds of protection per attack blocked, with an internal cool down of 1 second.

When asking for changes to a profession you have to consider how it would effect pve as well.I have been playing a warrior since beta, and I do agree that the warrior in pvp is alittle underpowered compared to the Beast it was during beta.I my opinion I think the warrior was suppose to be the hardest hitting profession able to take out foe in a blink of the eye if they dont dodge or block the big hits.But the average player new to the game just couldnt dodge the big hits leading to the warrior getting the nerf bat.I say just give us the damage we had to 1-2 shot glass cannons and 2- 3 shot bunkers if they dodge then were done if they dont dodge/block they’re dead balance restored. The changes your asking for will make it harder for other professions to get a group for dungeons.
The 5th skill of gs warrior should have a 2 sec or more knockdown. I mean the attackanimation is ok too, it would fit the skill, and u could use your 100b better in pvp. Or the f1 skill of gs should have a knockdown, animation would fit too, at least 1 more knockdown cuz we are warriors we need knockdowns bulls charge is not enough and its already kittenty so anet consider this pls. This is a good idea tough

I find this somewhat funny.
I guess your proposed solution would be to make all weapons into Greatsword clones that can’t apply conditions. I also bet you want to be competitive in PvP by bursting like a thief without being glassy like one and forget about putting pressure on people with conditions because it’s garbage.
why would you find it funny when it’s true other weapon sets hardly offer any defensive options and the offensive options they offer are limited to ineffective in the current state of the game.

The thing is, he’s not looking to fix what’s wrong, just perpetuate what’s in the current meta. And when that meta shifts, you’re just boned. And calling sword worthless is just as shortsighted as much of the other things he’s talking about.

GS 3 and 5 are your best mobility with mobile strikes and GS 3 gives you a brief immunity. I think that is why people use it, not for the silly 100b or damage.
As for thieves, they are glassy because they can get away with it..Also, I’m pretty glassy and I have to use a few traits just to set up a 100b which if it lands fully..is equal to one heart seeker with zero cooldown. There is something very wrong here.
I don’t see why us expecting to do similar damage to thieves with us either being tankier or having multiple and broken mechanics to get away isn’t reasonable.
If sword was useful, then what would you sacrifice for it? GS with its mobility? Axe with its burst? It has its uses but it pales as opposed to other main handers.
This discussion is of no consequence. All our main handers are meh compared to other classes. Check out the thief’s sword abilities with an offhand dagger..check out the guardian’s or mesmer’s sword abilities. That is why the OP thinks sword sucks.
It is just a joke what the ‘masters of martial skills’ do with their weapons compared to other classes.

In GW1 warriors also had access to several good options to mitigate or remove conditions. Currently in GW2 I feel like a thief without stealth, forced to jump in and out of combat because trying to run decent DPS with a bit of survivability just isn’t possible, you’ll find yourself only moderately tougher while taking a huge hit to your DPS, making you a wanna-be guardian.
I would GLADLY take a nerf in the DPS department if in return I got the ability to stay in the fight like a guardian just not as tanky.

If you get a nerf to dps and a buff to survivability youl be a poor version of a guardian minus the group support.
We just need a buff to survivability without a nerf to DPS. Shatter mesmers do the same aoe dps and got way more survivability and utility.
Guardians have decent dps while being tankier than us.
Thieves have better dps than us, 1heartseeker=bolas>frenzy>100b and they can spam it with no cooldown. Obviously way better survivability.
I have no idea why we don’t get a buff to our survivabiltiy, honestly. We need better gap closers as well. I’m tired of being the only class in the game that has to chase its target around.

Warriors need their niche regarding what keeps them standing up. I think I recall the devs saying they wanted to emphasize control but that leaves out a bunch of weapons. They have quite a bit but cripples don’t save your but and while immob is very strong it doesn’t shut someone down, also it only has the one trait to support it.
I am ok with warriors having lousy condition removal as that is a method of profession definition. So instead of doing more damage per boon (yours or theirs) make it more damage per condition on the war (or something of that nature). How about a trait that causes the warrior to proc a “fear me” when at %X health.
Sure hope something is in the pipe.
Once again a classic QQ post from someone who doesn’t have a bit of understanding about the classes.
You see what others possibly have and want it for your class, ofcourse without losing anything that makes you own class strong.

This SS requires them to use Sword in one weaponset + the step has a Cooldown if you want it that way, its 15 sec, or you have to use ShadowReturn which will then cost 5ini in combination.
And sure thiefs don’t need it, they dont need anything because they are so OP with their 12k backstab combo and their Clusterbomb spam.
And the auto condi removal and and an.
They way you describe it, you must have seen a 30×5 thief with 3 weaponsets and 10 utility slots ….
The Sword /x thief, with 25% movement speed, stealth, shadowstep and scorpion wire ( also LOL because of random dodges, blocks , stability and other misses or just not working ) is clearly doing the Dmg that a warrior does ! sure …

Once again, if you would have at least a bit of understanding how ele works, you would not say something like that.
Ele has to chose one weapon set ( staff not really viable right now ) out of basicly D/D or S/D .
And a 3kit engineer, although it can be very strong, will lose much to achive that ! (eg. wont have a stunbreaker , no stability ) and
dont even try to compare their “skill” to the skill the basic noob GS + A/S warrior shows us everyday in hotjoins….

They are more tanky if they go tank, warriors could also go tank, but they will lose their Burst-ability, like these classes do too.
You would have to use a bleeding 2nd set, but you won’t achive their dmg level while beeing tanky.
Therefor you have some CC ability with Hammer which Ranger / ele lacks.
But this is due to the profession philosopy.
Some classes are better for certain aspects , a Ranger / Ele / Guard or basicly no profession could ever reach the dmg capability a full zerker speeced GS + A/x warrior has !

Warrior in the beginning were real monsters, but somehow all the good warrior players left leaving only QQ and bad players, which clearly have no idea how to play as a warrior.
But yeah dude, give the warrior all the good stuff from 4-5 other professions so even the greatest noob can oneshot anything, and if, for some reason it would not work – just teleport out, go into stealth and switch to your 3rd weapon set giving you stability + protection and heal up to full ….. but even then you would come here and QQ about something else.
As a tip, please reroll the classes you think they are better than yours, and play a bit, you will see that the grass is not alwayas greener on the other side.
