You have sword, which gives you mobility(and immobilization removal if traited) , cripples, a burst immobilization(which you can quick swap to maintain the effect while you do something else and Final thrust which deals 3k crit or 6k+ crit if at 50%

Or you have the Axe, which deals massive maintained damage, has a long range cripple, a vulnerability attack which is 10% more damage and a burst skill which deals 8k + damage burst.

Which would you use.

Sword, and not at all because of final thrust. Unless you have solid support and mobility from team mates, axe is horrible for mobility and eviscerate has a horrible range, requiring you to use a stun to make it land.

I’ve seen axe/wh + gs builds before which have been effective but good luck conrtolling anyone with that.

atm im using axe+shield + 2h hammer, its working really well, but I still like sword more, because of the mobility and disengaging potential, also final thrust is like eviscerate but it doesn’t waste the adrenalin which you’d need for eathshatter.

Stunlock>swap >shield bash final thrust = win,.

Sword.

Any player worth their salt will know, when they see you swap to axe they know that big move is coming, it’s so telegraphed and easy to avoid.

U can use both with burst mastery..

Shield bash>evi>swap to sword>immo>final thrust. Ofc its takes practice ;b

Final Thrust at <50% hp has the same damage as a full adrenaline Eviscerate.

Personally, I am on a fence between the two of them. I like axe for the massive adrenaline gain and more Eviscerates, but I love the mobility that a Sword gives. And for me personally, the animation of Eviscerate is better than Final Thrust.

No? Axe has more multipliers. Eviscerate DEFINITELY hits harder if you count Dual Wielding, Axe Mastery, Desperate Power, and Berserker’s Power.

Depending on the enemy comp I would say both or just eviscerate is fine.

They both have the same damage coefficient.

As for the traits: Dualwielding/Desperate Power/Berserker’s Power are applicable to both and Axe Mastery is inferior to Blademaster unless we’re talking Unsuspecting Foe for guaranteed crits. And even then, we’re talking about at most 7% more damage.

If anything, Axes having a wider damage range (850-1050 vs 900-1000) favors them once in a while for higher damage. And of course there’s the fact that Axes are most commonly paired with a damage-oriented build.

Also, Final Thrust cleaves whereas Eviscerate does not.

Never really been a fan of axe. I’ve always preferred sword. Sword gives you more mobility, and its attacks are very quick and don’t have obvious animations.

What do you think of sword AA?

What’s not to love about it? It’s fast and I can stack on a ton of bleeds with it because of how i’m set up.

Soooo…nothing good for power?

Sword is ok for power builds, but I prefer it for conditions. It can do decent damage though if you go for power. The speed and mobility of the sword is what makes it most appealing though regardless of whether you choose power or conditions. We do have better weapons for pure power builds though, but you get a little of both with swords. it has versatility.

what would you guys think about mace/shield & sword/axe?

I’ve always been a big fan of 1 handed weapons and I’m also fed up with GS based builds…..cannot stand HB lol

I like combination of sword/sword+axe/shield in pure zerk..Blocks+load of damage in one

As for ur answer i dislike dual wielding bc of how silly it looks. Mace/shield is fine as for sword use either..yep, sword or mace. Axe offhand is as good as deleted, forget about it, we don’t have something like axe offhand.
