Guild Wars 2

This build is for people who play casually and use the same build for WvW and dungeons. This is my first time posting a build, so feel free to criticize or share your opinions.

Weapon Selection: Greatsword/Rifle
A ranged weapon is mandatory because there are too many fights in dungeons where you can’t use melee weapons, so it is either rifle or longbow. I find longbow more useful in WvW, but it’s single target damage is much lower. And I don’t have a decent longbow yet, so I’m using a rifle.
Greatsword brings mobility in WvW maps, and I think it’s one of the best melee dps weapons.

Why 25 Arms?
I think 10% more damage to bleeding foes is a great dps gain because even if you don’t hit with bleeding skills there’s usually one who does, so it grants you free 10% damage.

Why 15 Defence?
Well, this one is up to you. You won’t be using your greatsword burst ability since you need adrenaline stacked for more damage, and this slot also grants you free regeneration. A little more hp and toughness are always welcome in tight fights. But as I said, this one is up to you.

Why “Embrace the Pain”? (Adept slot skill in Defence line)
This one is situational. I use this when I’ll be using rifle and I’ll be getting hit a lot. I switch to “Cull the Weak” if I’m using melee or if the fight is relaxed. I use “Turtle’s Defence” in WvW, use whichever you like.

Runes

I use the exotic set from Arah that gives Power/Prec/Crit Dmg. I went for 6/6 “Superior Rune of the Eagle” which gives Prec and Crit Dmg. Remember this is a dps build with minor survivability, so always avoid unnecessary damage and know when to fall back. You can always balance out runes for extra survivability if you feel too squishy.

Sigils

“Superior Sigil of Force” (5% dmg) for your greatsword
“Superior Sigil of Accuracy” (5% crit chance) for your rifle

*I haven’t done the theorycrafting for the rifle sigil, but I feel like it gives the best dps since rifle cooldowns are relatively long.

I think “Shake It Off” is a life saver in many situations both in dungeons and WvW. I experience lots of moments in which I’m about to die because of a condition, I’m not getting hit and I have healing on cd. Utility skills are always situational, use whatever suits you.
