Can or should we expect to see anything from this skill? It has always been useless. It’s slow, gives next to nothing for its buff, and I do more damage using Rush than blowing my entire adrenaline bar on the attack. Has there been any mention of making it more of a viable skill (for any mode of play) at any point? All this time playing with greatsword and it still feels completely weird to have that one icon up there that I’ll almost never, ever use.

If they implemented a better use for adrenaline, be it healing, cleansing, defending or supporting, that’d be plenty of reason to use Arcing Slice or any Burst skill. It might not be as good as Earth Shaker or Flurry for what they do, but those weapons also don’t have Whirlwind/Rush, Hundred Blades and the cosmetic looks of GS…

…but if they want to buff the attack too, I’d almost think they should make the other weapons’ bursts even better to compensate.

Run and leap at your foe, hitting them and nearby foes.

I think it should be like swoop or leap of faith. Greatsword should have mobility in there burst to compensate for loss of damage or effects.

Why does GS need another gap closer? Are you trying to pigeonhole Warriors into only GS?

If anything, they should give the other weapons at least 1 movement skill and all weapons having no more than 2 (GS already has 2).

I would absolutely love that; it’s beautiful.

I was thinking with how slow it is now and how hard hitting the sound effect is; it should have a knock down or daze to help set up hundred blades despite mace having a daze already. A gap closer does sound nice for SPvP where you’re kited to death though.

The funniest thing is that’s exactly how things will go:

Warrior: -LEAPS FOR EPIC DAMAGE-
Anyone outside pve mobs: -Dodge since the animation is so freaking predictable-

We’re back right where we started with fixing the warrior class….

Well, you’d then use arcing slice to keep fury up for higher crit chance, so that 100b would then do crits more reliably. There also wouldn’t need to be so much worry about 100b being too powerful since it’d be the burst ability, meaning they could give it some sort of rooting mechanism like flurry has.

Mind you I suppose you can already get 100% fury uptime through FGJ.

Well, logically, that set-up would be worse, yeah…

However, it’s rather illogical that the burst skill that one must build up for is worse than the #2 skill…

this but as lyonell said for it to be usefull it will have to have a fast animation or make it a 2 step first your character knocks back target with a kick then leap on em like a 2 step skill. Would work how theives flankin strike works now as a 2 part skill that you activate. Personaly i would like the kick that does a blowout to target at 600 range then you leap at them and deal double dmg at if they are knocked down still. when the 2nd part skill ends it could give out an aoe might buff for 3 stacks or make it give 3 might if first skill was used at 3 bars.

I think it should be replaced with something. Maybe a block/counter knock back. Either its just a block then counter for first/second stage with 3rd a knock back or knock back distance increases with adrenolin level. Think Siegfried from Soul Calibur 4/5’s crouch stance.

In pve that would make a lot of sense and I would totally agree with it, but in pvp HB is the only half viable tool most warriors have and even as it is today it really doesn’t add for much lol.

Arcing Slide just screaming about a knockdown effect with some hard numbers..Its completely looks like a “finish off that noob” yet its does..everyone knows.

Im also not sure why arcing inst our 2 skill. I know they wont unroot 100b as they need to change animation for that skill, but moving that to burst, add a immo on ur target+stability on urself would actually make it useful even in pvp.

Actually a few abilities should grants stability for duration, shield stance is the best candidat for that as its does not block every attack as its supposed to do making it pretty easily to bypass with many cc abilities.

That’s assuming you gain the “new” benefit on top of the skill you already have. More than likely any additional adrenaline usage will not be simply tacked on to the ‘F1’ key. Say they do tack on an effect to adrenaline skills though. Then all other skills will get it as well; meaning Arcing Slice would still be the worst burst skill in the game. The issue is not solved.

They’ve been saying they wanted to change it but haven’t even hinted at details.

We should be so lucky that they change it back to a leap with distance based on adrenaline level.

Or maybe if they ever decide to change the animation to an “uppercut”, it could have a launch effect. I suppose KD/Launch wouldn’t fit the theme of greatsword, but I don’t think warriors have a launch effect on a weapon skill… do they?

I’d like to see 100B move to the burst and either see the warrior capable of moving at a reduced rate comparable to Whirling Wrath on a guardian or give it not 100% increased attack speed maybe 75%.

The damage would need to be monitored and balanced accordingly.

To replace it on the bar, I believe some form of parry ability to block attacks for 3 seconds or block a single attack and allow a heavy counter attack would be a decent addition.

All of you people suggesting that 100 blades should be moved to the burst need to stop talking. That would be horrible. Warriors would be worse then that already are.

My suggestion for arcing slice is it should be a heal that scales with the amount of adrenaline you have. That would make it useful.

Please, no.

Warriors desperately need ways to sustain themselves across the board, any “heals” or such should not be tied to any single weapon, especially not the greatsword.

I really want warriors to heal by doing dmg and they will never allow that.
Have you tried Melandru runes with Dogged March trait plus lemongrass for dps? Pretty amazing.
If your using Hammer healing shout build you should be good to go also. Just avoid small fights.
I have no issue with sustain. pvp is a whole different story tho.

15 sec of fury is not a bad buff. Especially on a weapon that builds fury as fast as GS

Cause The GS has a lot of Lock Motion skills (in a mobile oriented game) and has lots of movement directional skills which lock movement..
