Getting Ripped a part in PvP
One thing I wanna ask just to clarify, because I noticed you said you were new and you changed your armor to see if it helped. You realize in pvp your armor, amulets, etc don’t matter and all your stats come from your pvp amulet right? Same goes for your runes and sigils, pvp doesn’t use the ones on your armor it uses the ones set up in the pvp build panel which if you haven’t used it could be anything, this could be a large part of your problem if so.

Oh…. yeah I had no idea. I thought my armor was included… that’s actually kinda strange, and embarrassing xD. I have been switching my amulet/runes/sigils through that panel however, I just didn’t know armor didn’t count.

Armor matters only in that you need to be WEARING armor for you to get your full stats. Otherwise, a full set of whites is enough.
Your build isn’t that great, and Warrior is the weakest PvP class in the game currently. That’s going to be a big part of why you’re being torn apart.
First big recommendations are:
Defense 212, Discipline 233. The vast, VAST majority of Warrior builds are going to use this combination, with the only exceptions being ones that use Rifle (typically Disc 123 in that case) and Shields (then Defense 112). The third track depends on whether or not you have HoT, and what kind of build you want. Most Berserkers will go for Zerk 133 for the Stability and access to Berserk/Primal Bursts. Otherwise, Arms or Strength is usually the third — Arms being the simpler of the two.
Secondly:
Endure Pain and Berserker Stance are must-haves, almost inarguably. Your third slot is up to preference, but these two will save you far more than anything else you can slot in, defensive or otherwise.
Three builds to consider as jumping-off points:
Base game, Hammer/Greatsword:

Heart of Thorns, Rifle/Greatsword:

HoT video guide, Sword/Torch + Mace/Shield (not optimal but close):

Other popular weapon combinations to consider:
Sword/Torch (condition amulet: Wanderer’s, Mercenary)
Mace/Shield (secondary swap, better with power amulets or Mercenary)
Do not play Warrior without Defense and Discipline.
That puts things into perspective for me! It’s kinda sad that they are considered the worst right now because I have so much fun with it in PvE. I just recently purchased HoT so I will definitely look into the Berzerker build you mentioned.
I’ll start making the adjustments you recommended and give some feedback once I go several rounds with the new build(s). If there’s any other suggestions you, or anyone else can give I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks!
lol I go against a the grain and use Defense Arms, and Berserker. or Defense Arms and Strength
Warrior is bad for sometime now.
But if you are still a stubborn ballsy Norn with plenty of chest hair, then:
- Get rid of Tactics line, no one use that.
- Pick Discipline line, this line is what makes Warrior a Warrior.
- I recommend picking Shield instead of Mace off hand.
That was 100x better. Though I still I have a long way to go. I did run a sword/shield combo, but just switched to an axe/shield for vulnerability and blocks. Using a hammer also goes a really long way. I did have defense and discipline as well, but never thought to use the burst skill bonuses those specs offer. All in all everything went much smoother. I suppose I’ll keep practicing and wait on a patch. I’m looking at the berzerker spec tree as we speak.
Thanks for the help!
