Question, what weapon should create the field?
Hulk Roaming Montages/Build Vids
I always rage but never quit.
Warhorn would be nice-
GS- burst could be one also….so it was actually worth spending adrenaline on..
Banners could also be an option.
There are pleanty of options
I want more f1 skills than one.
For example: GS F1 – Gives fury F2 – put 5 bleed on target or Daze target for 1-2sec. F3 – something else
Hammer: F1 – Stum 5 Foes F2 – Smash the Ground and establishe Earth field for 5 sec witch will give protection each sec for 1sec for 5 ally.
F3 – for example block projectiles.
But if you use F1 F2 or F3, then all skills will go on 7-10Sec cooldown and you lose adrenaline.
So you’ll allways have to chose witch skill you have to use and use it depends on situation.
Sorry for my bad English.
Sure, then warriors will have everything
But the question is why (and which ones would even make sense)?
Look at the (total) amount of combo finishers we have: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Table_of_warrior_combo_skills
11 Blast Finishers (most are banners though)
21 Projectile Finishers (obviously most on ranged weapons)
5 Leap Finishers
7 Whirl Finishersz
You can kind of say that we have lots of finishers but very little fields.
Necros, eles, and mesmers have the other problem, lots of fields but not as many finishers. Thieves have some fields, but almost exclusively projectile finishers. Guards have a decent number of finishers, but almost exclusively just light fields.
Of the fields, which ones would make any sense?
Water would make people crying foul of our sustainably even more numerous. Smoke would also be way too broken. Thematically Dark and Ethereal also don’t make much sense. And I’d say giving us access to Lightning (and being able to stack more vulnerability) would just cause too many balance issues.
That relatively leaves, Ice, Light, and Poison. Some would argue that we have enough access to cleanses, so no to a Light field (plus I don’t think that make much sense).
Honestly I can see an Ice field of some sort on maybe the GS burst. But it’d have to be carefully integrated. I can see it becoming the new “go-to” combo for anyone using a GS. Burst (create an Ice field) —> Bladerail (applies cripple and chill) --> Rush/Bull’s Charge —> HB.
Also the warhorn is already a good off hand weapon for those traited, and still great for mobility for those who aren’t. And I’d argue banners are already pretty strong (at least the passive), giving them fields on top of that might be a bit much.
Don’t get me wrong. It is very noticeable that warriors are lacking in fields, but I don’t know if we need them. Rather, where they could go/what they would be to keep balance.
Edit: The whole point of combo fields is to promote team work between players/professions. We have great access to finishers while others have great access to fields, and some have good access to both.

Personally, I think an F1 and an F2 would be all we’d need. One for the main hand, one for the off hand (2 for 2 handers). Though I don’t really like your suggestions. A daze on the GS would bring back the problems with Hammer/GS. And warriors do not need protection (let alone near 50% uptime on it) because we have the highest hit pool with the highest armor, and a good number of block/invulnerable/condition immune/stability/etc. skills.
These was just an example how it have to work.
For now Hammer are useless in PVE and GS F1 are allmost totally useless in PVP and WVW.
Arena says that they want to avoid useless skills and these is the way to fix it.
Actually I kinda like the idea of combo fields being put on banners. Remove the banner finisher and keep it applied on the banner 5 skill so that you could see some play with moving banners.
Perhaps something like this.
Banner of Tactics = Water Field
Banner of Strength = Poison field (synergizes well with both power and condition builds)
Banner of Discipline = Lightning Field (because as of now only Elementalists have access to this field, I think other professions should get a shot at this one)
Banner of Defense = Light Field
Battle Standard = Fire Field (helps with might stacking so it is slightly less than Signet of Rage but still useful for individual use, as well as team play.
This is just off the top of my head though. I would love to see warriors get access to combo fields because I expect the nerf bat to swing hard.
I’ve long thought Banners would be a great place for Combo fields, perhaps as an F1 ability, or on the Plant as bobomb has suggested.
I’ve never found myself wanting for the ability to create my own fields other than when I’ve run support banners with a bunch of blast finishers and no one had a water field.
So everyone wants to nerf warriors and you want to give them more buffs? If they had more combo fields, I hate to think about what ANET would take away to compensate.
Sure, then warriors will have everything
Nope, you forget stealth, that comes next.
-Charr Thief-
It’s good to be bad!
But that would take away some of the group play.
Yes, let’s give the most powerful damage profession acces to the most powerful support abilities as well.

So what I am hearing here is that you would enjoy warriors being nerfed so that they cannot take down solo players easily. But you do not want to give them any buffs in group support to compensate?
Warrior aren’t supposed to have combo fields. They are masters of weaponry, not magic.
