Guild Wars 2

I just started an asura warrior but I can’t decide which of these 2 weapons I should use.

I’m a PvE type of person so I need to know if GS or Hammer works better
(I already have a rifle for ranged combat so now I need something for meelee)

Please reply if you have an answer

Hammer is a control weapon. It sure can dish out some crazy spike damage but it is mainly used for all the CC and stuns, thus its more of a PvP weapon.

In PvE you cannot really CC any bosses or higher tier mobs with that ‘unshakable’ buff and trash-mobs die rather quickly anyway. It ultimately makes the GS stand out because of the superior sustained damage.

In PvP/WvW it is actually not uncommon to run a Hammer/GS setup.
You might want to try that if you ever get into that.

Oh btw, Rifle is kinda lackluster(?) I have always preferred the Longbow for a range weapon. Even in dungeons, fractals etc. Give it a try.

Greatsword for mobility and Hundred Blades.

Personally I prefer the Longbow as a ranged weapon in PvE because of its superior utility, but it’s up to you.

Hammer and rifle are both the least useful weapons that a warrior has access to in PvE by far.

Greatsword is overall the most useful weapon that a warrior has, as it offers an evasion, best damage out of all weapons (along with axe mainhand), and amazing mobility.

Hammer is more for PvP due to it’s control as mentioned above.

Greatsword is more DPS/Mobility which is exelent for PvE and PvP.

The choice for most people would be the greatsword coz of it’s huge DPS and the ability to map travle with it in PvE.

personally i would go gs and axe/ or gs and longbow in pve . L/bow is great for ranged/kiting and for burning the hell out of everything …. Also i do like asura wielding a gs ….. tiny dudes carrying huge weapons looks cool i think hehe

Just telling you Ranger Longbow is completely different from Warrior Longbow despite both being Longbows.

If anything, Ranger Longbow is way more similar to Warrior Rifle than Warrior Longbow is.

Rifle is useful in pve on a very few specific encounters yet i can’t think of any place where hammer would be (in pve).

I just want to reiterate what’s already been said. LB on Warrior is a completely different animal than LB on Ranger. And so is Greatsword for that matter, but to a lesser extent.

That being said, Shield in a PvE setting is essentially useless.
