Guild Wars 2

Now before you call me out and say “hey im running Ham/GS, way to post the generic build.” There are a few minor changes here that work with the damage nerf allowing near before nerf DPS. Im posting this so that others who use this weapon set can compare different set ups and maybe get some advice on some things they hadn’t thought of before.

“But this is just the new //30/10/30 hammer build” there are a few changes here that will give us near pre nerf DPS back. For one, im using Cull the Weak over Dogged March. Hammer #2 provides near enough perma weakness, so think of this as an extra 5% dmg modifier. (Even more perma if youre roaming with a thief or necro). One other minor change would be Empowered over Leg Specialist. You may be thinking, “well empowered is decent, but its only 1% per boon, and you don’t have a huge amount of boons” But here’s where my last tweak makes Empowered VERY powerful. Lyssa runes. With a 48 sec CD, youll be able to cleanse all your condis and gain all boons for a 9% dmg increase very often. Fury and swiftness from SoR will last 38 seconds, leaving only a 10 second downtime. On top of that, the stability and aegis prevent anyone from stopping your burst combo. The main one being Earthshaker->Ham#2->Backbreaker->quick swap into hundred blades. That combo can do anywhere from 15-25k damage, downing pretty much anyone in a couple seconds. The hydromancy on GS can crit upwards of 3k, and the chill allows one more hit or 2 on 100b from Backbreaker. While mobile strikes doesnt entirely make up for loss of lemongrass, dogged march, and melandru, this build works with the hammers damage nerf. (Wish i wouldve thought of this before the nerf)

One last minor thing that doesn’t affect the build but is just useful, you only ever have to get berserker trinkets. You don’t have to worry about getting two sets of ascended for WvW and PVE, you just need to swap out armor and weapons and traits and your set. No need farming laurels, fractals, and guild missions.

It’s a common ‘hambow’ build, nothing new. You replaced a longbow from gs…….

People always say hmm hammer GS EVERYONE DOES IT HURDHURLULULUL yet you are the first person aside from me who I have seen actually use it. Dont listen to the hataz cause they dont know a backbreaker tell from a staggering blow tell XD.
Regardless I really liked the build, quite like mine in many ways. Just quickly rifling through it I made some changes to your version with a little less crit damage and toughness but in exchange for more power and 11% more precision.

Have you guys considered taking the extra 10 in tactics and putting it into strength? You gain a more consistent DPS increase, you can use the power to vit trait. That gives you maybe around 1.8K HP which is more than what you get from tactics. You do lose the 10% boon duration but you do get 10% condition duration. Giving you maybe half a second on cripples, though that doesn’t make a huge difference. I also think having Dogged March + DotE is better than Cull the Weak + MS. Dogged march helps with other movement impairing abilities and gives regen, along with more DPS with DotE (if a player has 2+ more buffs it is automatically more DPS). While weakness can be cleansed and relies on you landing it in a combo (although it isn’t too difficult).

This is one of the builds that I use. It can also used with almost any weapon set. Gs/LB, Hammer/S+Sh, etc.

Ok so ive been messing with some traits the last couple days. Leg Specialist is just that much beter than empowerd, even with lyssa runes. And I rarely land hammer#2, so Cull the Weak is pretty “weak” (heh heh heh). I LOVE lyssa runes tho, that clutch aegis, stability, protection, condi clear has saved me so many times. ive also tried desparate power, but the threshold is just to low, if it was 50% it would be insanely good. Ive also started using DotE and man. it just destroys classes like guard, ele, and engi. ive gotten 5k earthshakers still, and one time against an uplevel engi I got a 7k rush. Instadowned him since it was a big group fight. Someone even asked me what build and gear I was using, after I completely annihilated them. I tought them how to warrior. But yeah, these are my finding over the last couple days.

You said that you barely land hammer 2, then proceeded to tell people how to warrior. Your combos are terrible, and you have literally no idea what you’re talking about.

That is by far the worst Ham/GS build ive ever seen. You shouldnt roam with that.
I finally understood why there are still people that belive warrior is balanced. If you downgrade yourself by force like that it might seem balanced.

your the kind of guy who says a 30 0 0 10 30 one shot evicerate build with healing surge, for great justice, signet of might, and on my mark is OP because its a warrior.

and your full ascended? oh tell me again how little I care.
what do you run 0 20 30 0 20? 1 word for that: inefficient.

as for the actual topic. I found that 10 in tactics just isnt worth the extra damage on lyssa proc or even gaining leg specialist when you can get more HP and power from the str line. I know someone else said it before and Im to lazy to dig it out so whoever you are, good suggestion.
