30k-50k on PvE mobs or players?

On mobs, but even I only get a max of 8k damage on mobs and thats with 25 stacks of vul. I’ll never hit for 9k let alone in the 10k’s.
as for the killshot damage, I have heard that when it penetrates it gets similar bonuses from berserker’s power as bladetrail does, so that is probably the source of the 30k plus hits, And in WvW my full berserker warrior pal hits 6-11k killshots most of the time, so you aren’t too far off in the damage range for that. also, on a slightly unrelated note, hammers make my thief hate life.

As a hammer warrior, I can tell you flat out that hammers are a complete blast. Especially if you tack leg specialist on as well. ‘3’ for hammers radiates out this cone of cripple that’ll also hit for a 1 second immobilize. I’ll usually use my burst skill into a zerg, drop my ‘3’ skill, then combo in with ‘4’ and run back out before dying. Hammer doesn’t seem to have the 3 mob cap on aoe for some of the skills, so you’ll end up smashing and throwing people around like nothing in zergs.
If you’re just in a group of maybe 5-10 friends and you’re running around capping supply camps and picking off enemy stragglers, the pure CC of the hammer (esp if you have a gs or sword+warhorn secondary) means basically no one can escape.
Only gripe I have with the hammer: Weak and slow. I understand there needs to be a trade off though. If hammers hit hard like the gs, warriors would easily become one of the quintessential characters in zergs. 10 warriors with hammers can turn the tide of a battle very very effectively.
Nonetheless, I can always wish that hammers will get a damage and speed buff, they do need it truthfully.

Wait… How can that first screenshot possibly be of Kill Shot damage? The person obviously has a greatsword equipped (Arcing Slice) and weapon swap isn’t on cool down. That looks to me like 100B damage, not Kill Shot.

You’re right, the first ss is not a killshot, but it’s still a warrior hitting for 30k, a number I have yet to reach. The second one is however, and it’s much more. Just want to know what traits/skills to use to maximize my rifle damage, and as one user here said, the tradeoff with the low damage hammer if fine by me. Good CC to get me out of garbage attacks followed with supposed 10-50k damage DPS is what I’m looking for.
Well Void. With full berserk gear, full full glass cannon (WARNING: You do not want to run this BS build in WvW) you can do 16-18k 100b if the circumstances are right on your own.
Now put this into a group scenario, a mob which you deal normal damage to, 25 stacks of Vulnerability (25% more damage taken) and in this case 18 stacks of might.
You can’t really put this up against WvW.
Are you seriously asking for advice on getting your abilities to hit for 50k in WvW? I mean, are you nuts? The toughest of tanks run around 30-33k hp and then you want good CC too?
What you are looking for my friend is an “I Win” button and i’m sorry man, this doen’t exist !
Running full glass cannon in wvw is a bad/gimmicky idea. Only occasionally will you be able to pull off huge numbers. Any time you fail, you will probably be instagibed. Even the times you succeed, you will probably die immediately after. The only class that can safely glass cannon in wvw is thief due to their stealth and mobility skills.
Hammer + glass cannon are like 2 completely divergent build ideas too. Hammer is all about CC/support. The Hammer skills themselves are 1.) slow 2.) relatively low damage compared to other weapons. They are used to control the enemy and help support/set up kills for allies. There is very little burst damage in hammer skills.
