Basically, Not that big of a fan of Greatsword, so my main damage set is Axe/Shield with Strength sigils for PS.
Also not much a fan of the mace, so simple enough, how is Hammer? Good in all modes?
(Not home otherwise I would have tested by now)

PvE: don’t bother.
PvP: slow, low DPS, long cooldowns, heavily telegraphed attacks easily blocked/blinded/dodged. Really don’t bother.
WvW: decent in very limited scenarios (big zerg fights) for AoE CC potential. Still a questionable choice and other professions’ elite specs arguably do it better anyways.

Ouch, guess I’ll be keeping my Greatsword switch or my Mace/shield switch, such a shame

If this is for PvE, try S/Wh. It’s a great set for mobility, makes playing more fluid. Personally I prefer GS though.

Greatsword and mace are currently the most powerful weapons in PvP and PvE. With longbow coming in third.
Hammer on the other hand is pretty bad in almost all situations and especially in PvE.
