Q:
Hammer skills,working as intended?
It’s is intended. Many of the skills require a channeling time while standing still before they fire or fire completely. Axe is just not one of those with channeling abilities requiring standing still. That’s why I love my Axe/Warhorn in PvP. So mobile.
Yup, hammer has 2 self-roots (#3 and #4), and its the biggest downside to the weapon in PvP. You have to chain into them to use them effectively, which means opening up with a utility skill like bulls/bolas, the hammer burst skill, or your offset’s cc skill (like mace stun or one of the many cripples we have access to)
The self root on #4 is worse than the one on #3 imo, since at least the #3 skill has a decent sized shockwave. Anytime i see someone pop a stun breaker as i hit #4, i cry a bit inside cause i will 100% miss that knockback.
The skills are working as intended.
1. Can be used while moving however the final attack is an induction (no cast bar) meaning it goes off shortly after the last press.
2. Can be used while moving is usually hits the hardest.
3. Is a channeled skill (no cast bar) that sends out a small AoE from the Warrior.
4. Is an AoE Knockback that roots the warrior while executing the spin. The Warrior cannot move while using this skill.
5. Is a Knockdown and the warrior can move during this skill.
If you are having trouble getting off the #4 either spec into leg specialist and use #3 to immobilize first or combo with #5 into #4. This last combo is effective in keeping a target out of a point by knocking them down as they enter then knocking them out while they stand up to maximize the time they spend out of the point.
