So i’ve been noticing more often then not when I have quickness up my Hb always misses 2 ticks of dmg which is a huge dps loss. Instead of hitting VG for 70-80k I hit for 50k. Instead of hitting Bloomhunger for 50k i hit him for 30k.

Its been annoying the kitten out of me. Has anyone else noticed it?

Justa former purple ’vari warrior here to tell you yes. It happens with axe 5 and hundred blades. No idea what causes it, but it always has bugged out occasionally with quickness.

Quick edit: I can’t find it anymore, but I pointed this out to Defektive back in the day with axe 5. He basically said, “oh. Don’t use quickness then. I don’t want to take 50% more damage anyways.”

I’ve only noticed animations bugs with hundred blades. Such as when I’m using hundred blades and then go berserk, it looks as if you stopped but you still deal damage. Also, when I’m in berserk and weapon swap from axe+shield to greatsword and use my burst too quickly it uses the axe primal burst animation but it’s actually using the greatsword primal burst b/c there’s still a wave of damage that comes from it.

HB under quickness is easy to reproduce on the Beasts in the Mists. The last hit hits late, even seeming delayed for some reason. I don’t understand where, or when the hit is going exactly, but ive wondered if it doesnt have something to do with the fact it seems detached from the previous hits. The “swings” all occur at the same pacing, while the big finish hit has a pause and longer “channel”. The two portions of the skill also have different damage values, so that might suggest the break in effects and why things dont flow smoothly.

I checked this in the mist with the sigil of super speed, which is 1sec of quickness.
What I believe is happening is in the initial part of the skill under quickness, the animation and casting are sped up.

However, once the quickness expires in the middle of the channel, the original cast speed takes over. Although the animation looks fluid, the cast time dominates the damage. So the next few hits of the channel are delayed a bit to their normal timed landing.

That is why it appears bunched up.
All 9 hits do in fact land, and you can check this with the combat log.

Similar thing happens with the stomps. Which is why you have to wait.
