Help me build a speeding train?
Decisive play comes from the player/experience not the build. If you make a decision dont chicken out half way through.
Sure, that’s a large part of it. I’ve got that down well enough.
Put another way, a build with no CC that’s 100% specced defense can only follow people around poking at them. There’s no real need to pay attention to them until after their team’s dead, and it doesn’t feel like a build that can get in there and make things happen. This isn’t about damage – offensive builds are plenty decisive. A CC heavy build could also be very decisive.
First of all- love the idea. Sounds very fun and potentially hilarious. Have you considered for pure flavor’s sake of using Rampage as the elite? All the skills synergies pretty well with what you want to do. Also I MIGHT replace the dolyak signet with one of the stances, depending on what you have the most difficulty with (taking damage, cc, or condi/ adrenaline buildup).
On your sample build, it says youve taken defense 5, yet I dont see any skills that actually block. So instead you could put defense II in that slot, still use cleansing ire, and then either take hammer skill cd reduction or that hilarious elite that grants 1000 toughness on breaking a stun.
Tactics VII feels very underwhelming to me in terms of reliable condi removal. I would personally prefer the warhorn trait and switch mace for a warhorn (can you say train whistle?). Also gives the potential to convert some conditions into kitten boons (like vuln into protection, making you mega train). I realize that this would be a dps loss however, and I am biased because I absolutely love warhorn on warrior.
Going only 2 points into discipline and not gaining access to Fast hands feels like a missed opportunity. I would either bail on the discipline line and go for Strength VIII or bail on the strength line and go for Mobile Strikes (Discipline X).
I would also personally go Zerker over assassin, seeing as the hammer power coefficients are so high, and you already have the sigil of intelligence.
For Runes- they are definately flavor wise the best rune choice for an offensive variety of this build. For a more defensive/ unkillable aspect you might consider runes of the dolyak which stack really well with Healing signet and adrenal health, AND dogged march.
Thats pretty much what I got!
Thanks, tbone!
Weird – I didn’t intend to put defense V in. That should have been dogged march/cleansing ire/spiked armor.
I tried your suggestions for both rampage and fast hands and love it – being able to swap between both weapons and use CC and leaps back and forth gives me a ton of momentum that I didn’t have before. Rampage feels amazing.
Here’s my revised build:
I’ll give the zerker v assassin gear a shot and see how it feels. Thanks for the feedback!
I like you revised build. Here’s a couple of tweaks to consider:
Unsuspecting foe trait
Sigil of paralyzation on the hammer
Sigils with weapon swap effects; good investments now that you have fast hands trait
It doesn’t quite fit with your build, but leg specialist is an excellent cc trait, especially with hammer #3. It can help you guarantee your big cc lands.
I’m with you on the weapon swap effects.
As far as the unsuspecting foe + paralyzation, even with three bars of adrenaline and the sigil, that’s a 2.6s stun that I can exploit. Realistically, I won’t always be using earthshaker at 3 bars and may also be using sword burst to immo people in groups until they get focused by my teammates. This is my only stun and is the only thing I’d be able to do to take advantage of unsuspecting. It seems like there might be better traits in that slot. What do you think about that?
I did consider leg spec – I’ll take a look at that!
Thanks!
As far as dps over time, yeah it’s a close call on which trait is better. But, pvp is often about spike dps, and that’s where it delivers (although it does work better with a mace). Just something to try out maybe. You could also substitute mace for shield, and get good final thrust crits off of shield stun.
On traits too, you’re actually close to a pretty standard pvp setup: 0 0 6 2 6. That burst mastery trait is excellent if you really want to be comboing between bursts from your two weapon sets + you get leg specialist.
I think you have a reasonable base right now, these are just some strong alternatives.

Glad to hear your feedback, and good to know that I seem to be in a good place. This build’s been hella fun and really effective for me so far.
Any suggestions on food? How do you feel about the runes and sigils?
The updated link in the OP has the current runes/sigils!

Honestly not trying to be rude I assume that your not that great on warrior if you were asking us. My advice before trying to make up your own builds. Is visit metabattle website and get familiar playing all of the warrior meta builds 1st. Why because there is builds on there that already do what you are asking. And they wouldn’t be on there for no reason since they already work.
Not saying I am opposed to helping you I just don’t feel like its the kind of help you need.

You’re right in assuming that I don’t have much experience, and I agree that there’s probably a lot of value in trying the current meta builds. I’ll give those a shot and see what they teach me.
I’ve played with some of the current builds and don’t feel that they flow how I want them to. If I post my base build, I feel like my odds of working towards a strong build with flavor are pretty good.
Thanks for the suggestion on current builds – I’ll definitely take a look!
Paralization in Hammer is a waste. At 3 bars the extended duration is very likely disrupted by your’s or someone else’s hard CC. Used to play an Unsuspecting Foe build a long time ago. It had good CC and mobility. Fun for knocking people around. If I had to make it again I’d do something like this.

You’d only need 30% crit. Also the sigils on Sw/Sh are up to you but Impact and Doom on Hammer I probably wouldn’t mess with. I go with Shield over Mace for a few reasons. Block of course since were not running Defy Pain, and Shield Bash doubles as a stun to set up Final Thrust and an Immo break.
I haven’t touched Unsuspecting Foe since they moved it to Master so it might suck, but worth a shot. Sounds like what you’re after.

Thank you both for the input – I’ll give those builds a shot!
