I am a new player (Nooooooooooob here :P) and i would love to make a warrior but i can’t decide what Race to choose. I like them all (or i think i do xD)
You can have a new character ready for PvP in 10 minutes or so, so it doesn’t really matter what race your PvE character is. Also, in PvP all races are the same so the only difference is appearance; Asura is properly the “best” option because it’s harder to recognize a specific animation on an Asura than on other races.
For WvW Norn is good because the Snow Leopard is a great escape tool; otherwise Asura for the reason above.
For PvE it hardly matters because the profession’s elite skills are better; Asura gives you advantages in jumping puzzles though because it doesn’t block as much of the camera as e.g. a Norn.
I’d disagree with male norn, the armours just look like stretched out human ones. Female norn is good though.
OP, I’d say if you want to show off your armour and weapons, go for a norn or charr. If you’re more interested in competitive play, go asura since they have less obvious weapon animations.

Asura should not be able to go for heavy classes. An asura blocking a charr’s warhammer with a shield… but lol anyways, I would never go heavy class with a tiny race. Feels wrong ;P

I would say charr/norn/sylvari
The olny races that should be able to make warriors imo are Charr/Norn as its fits their lore. Personally i lol everytime i see a Justin Bieber in heavy armour.
Lets see (The following is mostly opinion btw)
Humans are the safe option. Their small size means you can see enemies telegraphing attacks more easily than a Norn or Charr. They are also good in jumping puzzles. Aesthetically they are a top tier race as all armour is designed for them; every other race’s armour is just a remoulded humans, their T3 heavy cultural gear is amazing looking too. (I would use more realistic looking greatsword like the ebonblade with it)
Sylvari are similar, only with 100% more salad.
Asura are the smallest and so are ideal for JP’s and for seeing what’s going on. Their small size however makes them less ideal for looking good.
Norn are a solid choice for a warrior, they’re big and so can be made to look the most impressive of all the races. Their cultural armour is some of the best with T3 heavy being one of the best looking sets in the game I’d say. Their size does mean that they are the second hardest race to complete JP’s with due to camera issues.
Charr are the riskiest race to choose. Very few armour sets look good on a Charr however that doesn’t mean there aren’t options. Vigil, T3 heavy, plated and heavy plated are some of the best I’d say. Charr are also the worst in JP’s due to their quadrupedal running (Although this can be solved by drawing your weapons) and large bulk. It isn’t all bad for the Charr however. In combat we get quite a few unique animations for our skills, eg running perpendicular to the ground on 3 limbs as part of the greatsword rush skill, that make a Charr in combat look amazing, the snarls, roars and growls also add to the effect. Being the worst at JP’s also means you can be rightfully smug when you see an Asuran fail something you beat first time.
If it’s just for looks, pick whatever you find most appealing. If for combat though, pick asurans as their animations for some of the skills are way less obvious and you can take advantage of that. There’s a reason why there’s so many asuran fotm build warriors running around everywhere.
If you want to be real warrior, pick charr or norn. If you want to be “yet another guy rolling warrior, can’t remember him”, pick human or salad. If you want to be parody on warrior, pick asura.
so in general if good looking is your primary goal you simply have to consider taht asuras are pretty small. Therfore armor and weapon might not look as impressiv as on a hugh Norn. Same goes for Chars – armor is quite diffrent on the sometimes because of their physique.
Maybe you need to make up your mind what do you want to be.
Brute or a lean but mean fighting machine. Or a noble that picked up arms to fight in the heat of the battle to contradict his former livestyle or brings some class to the front lines.
in general for warriors you do not need to base your decision on the racial skills or elites because most of the time you will run the warrior elite sigil because its that good.
Humans do have a solid elite choices.
The rest do not in my humble opinion – still they can be a lot fun like charzooka or the asura golems.
i would always go for charr because /threaten > all
Important thing to take into consideration is also the fact that Asuras and Charrs female characters use male armor models. And male/female armor models can often be very different (I would kill to be able to use Vigil male heavy chest and pauldrons on female Norn).
If you’re only pveing, planning to hug mobs all day, go whatever class and just make sure you look good (charr looks okay). But if you plan on future pvp/wvw, asura are simply best. No skill lag is big imo

Secondly i have to tell you that I have decided to be a little Asura warrior.
Don’t know but looking at their (tiny i know) armors and the way they look/move and skill animations just made me want one

make a Charr!! IMHO warrior is the class they were built for. Only other classes I have seen someone roll them for is guard or necro.. have you ever seen a Charr necro btw? Eww.. just dont. Charr were meant to wear steel-plated heavy armor and run around smashing hammers into things and bursting greatsword hundred-blades in faces. they are a barbaric race with awsomely brutal and savage animations thats perfect for warr. watch their hundred-blades (GS 2) animation, its their best. If you prefer more fluid movements as a warr, roll a human. its the only other race I could stand behind.
