How are our Elites viewed?
Warbanner: Area of effect too small, cooldown is high, annoying to use, limited use in spvp.
Juggernaut: Just plain bad. The skills you gain are nothing more than an alternative weapon set. All in all an inferior version of Rampage as One, and with a higher cooldown.
My opinion.
throw the second life bar on juggernaut (like necros get) and you might see some use, especially for bunkers (the few warriors who do that anyway).
Signet of Rage is plain awesome and has very little downtime for an Elite skill.
Warbanner requires some skill to use, but if you can position it well in a controlled area, your team wins. Still, it’s range is pretty small and I agree it should affect more space, also 60 secs lower cooldown would be good. But I don’t mind if the cooldown is not reduced.
Juggernaut is… Heh.
I use the banner a lot in dungeons to revive fallen allies in tight situations, the area of effect is too small so it doesn’t really offer a viable buff, not to mention that horrible cool down.
Jugg is…as everyone else said lame. If you use it when your life is low it will increase the amount of health you have but you will last what? 5 secs more? The animation delay are horrible and all the cool downs leave you punching in melee even if all your others skills throw the enemy away from you thus making you have to slowly walk to them.
Yeah, you should just y’know… Transform into a bigger stuff with your current skill weapons and + stats.
I really don’t like any of the warrior elite skills. I’m a level 80 warrior, by the way. The entire time I only used Signet of Rage because the others are just god awful. And only having one elite makes being a warrior that much more boring.
When they said race doesnt matter, it does.
Because our elites are poor and its often worthwhile running racials like the human doggies.
Pretty much exclusively use Signet of Rage, but sometimes banner when i notice my group is getting owned in dungeons that rez can help a tonne, when there is little to no time to stop and rez.
Just wanted to see if there were any other opinions or if it truly is that limited. Just turned 30 yesterday, so far got Signet of Rage and Bear form and was saving for something else but wasn’t sure what. Banner seems like the next best option perhaps if I’m in a dungeon? Bear has been semi-useful for tough veteran mobs or skill challenges. From what I’m reading juggernaut is worthless which is good I found out now bc I thought I was gonna get that next. Is Snow Leopard any good or no?
I use banner in dungeons and signet everywhere else. Have not found a use for rampage yet or the norn shapeshifts. Rampage could be useful in sPvP possibly with the stability it has.
Banner used to grant stability (up until practically days before the GW2 release date actually), but it was nerfed at the last minute. This is because its groupwide stability was too good in sPvP. I do expect it will be reworked at some point, they just haven’t got to it yet. As it stands it’s not that great. I use it in tough dungeon boss fights sometimes, when multiple people can get downed at once. It’s also useful for mass-rezzing large groups of NPCs in the Orr camps.
Signet of Rage, while a selfish elite, really is very good, especially if you spec into 30 tactics for +30% boon duration. If you don’t have it, you’ll probably want to another way to get access to Fury, such as FGJ.
Sadly. Signet of Rage all the way.
Signet of Rage is awesome.
I don’t like the visual effect when it’s not active, though. It’s especially distracting in towns.
But here’s my Wammo, so heal me maybe?
Signet of Rage is really the only one worth while. It’s like a super steroid on a short cooldown.
I wish they would add some damagey type bonuses to Rampage or Juggernaut or w/e it is.. I would use that skill all the time =(
Seriously besides signet of rage warrior elite skills suck if you got deluxe version mistfire wolf is 2nd best thats how bad they are.
Our elites are definitely stronger than the elementalist elites. Rez banner and Signet of Rage are very strong.
At this point I’m just echoing, but yeah, Signet of Rage is one of the best elites in the game, not just for Warriors. Both the passive and active effects are extremely powerful and relevant.
Sacaen -lvl 80 Warrior
Signet of Rage is, to be practical, the only true elite.
You’re dropping the Warbanner mainly as a resurrection ability. Its actual active state is next to worthless because of the small range and the naturally mediocre stat buffs banners always give. Stability? Good, but increase the range. Other classes can AoE stability too. Fury? Next to worthless – this is just an extra boon thrown in to try to make up for how crummy the elite is without overpowering it. Might? Wait, just ONE stack? Are you serious? So Battle Standard is basically just a small AoE of Stability. Pretty pathetic. I don’t see it changing any time soon, though. The funny thing is, a mesmer can AoE rez too – with a lower recharge to boot. It’s a joke. That’s kind of the lesson of Battle Standard – it’s a grab bag of almost entirely junk that ANet hopes together will be an elite. (Hint: it isn’t.) Warbanner = Black Lion Chest of elites.
Rampage isn’t even worth mentioning. ANet for some reason decided they loved transformation skills in GW2 as elites. Unfortunately, when you transform, you lose all your skills, and hence, your build synergy. In addition, if you gain any health at all, it’s wasted in the actual transformation. To boot, the transformations are usually weak, ineffective and easy to avoid. Sucks for my Norn Warrior, since I have the most elites in the game, yet all of them but Battle Standard and Signet of Rage are transformations.
I think they really dropped the ball on elites, in general. They were touted as game changers that in their tests people were afraid to use because the matches were always so even that the other team could counter them and then use their own. I really call total BS on that, now that we’re the ones playing the game. Not because of the elites, but because combat doesn’t even flow that way. Elites are an afterthought, for the most part. You rarely see them used not because they’re valuable, but because they’re usually very weak, and in some cases will actually get you killed. With some obvious exceptions. Rampage is a poster boy for this problem. It doesn’t really do anything other than make you a big, lumbering, neutered target.
ANet, reevaluate all thesekittentransformations. And stop adding them into the game. Transforming should be incredibly cool and terrifying to your enemies. It isn’t. It’s quite the opposite – it’s a sign you don’t know what you’re doing and that you’re now a free kill.
warbanner is great when you through it in rooms where mobs now have a lot of stuns/kd/fear/ and such as it gives stability to everyone nearby.
such as the couple rooms after the door gaurd in CM now, at the dog area, and so on.
IMO:
Signet of Rage- a staple, its awesome, short CD, not really OP, but makes our other skills pretty much crappy for every day use
Warbanner: CD is a bit long, awesome effects, and the revive downed allies is essential with a bad group.
Juggernaut: pretty much trash, no dmg, crappy duration and long CD for what it does now. however, the ONLY viable use I’ve found for it? AC Story Mode, can CC the kitten out of The Lovers, either the “pimp” or the “kitten”, as i affectionately call them. outside of that, I never bring it.
Charzooka is and always will be hilarious.
Just a correction for a few above posts… Battle standard does not give stability.
The tooltip is contradictory to itself, it says in text Fury, Might and Swiftness. The boons it lists have Stability, it actually grants Fury, Might and Swiftness.

Small scale unimpressive videos of unimpressiveness: http://www.youtube.com/neandramathal
At least Warrior has a good Elite skill and it is a signet to boot. Classes like Elementalists get stuck with two extremely crappy choices and no passives.
@neandrathmal actually. You’re wrong. If you pick up the banner skill 2 grants stability. Also. Much like the crit and healing banner. When picked up skill 2 applies stability on a 15 second CD just like the green banner gives fury and purple gives regen to allies. So. Before you correct someone please do so without spewing incorrect information. That is all.
There are other Elite’s other than Signet of Rage?
Signet of Rage is awesome.
I don’t like the visual effect when it’s not active, though. It’s especially distracting in towns.
/agree.
I don’t like the visual. I keep having to switch out my elite before taking screenshots. It’s just distracting and unnecessary.

To clarify something. Warbanner is awesome elite to have in spvp and Tpvp. Just because when its droppped ( and this should be the only time when its dropped) is to revive multiple downed teammates witha 2 sec cast.
Signet is fine; banner is ok but needs work; Juggernaut is terrible. I really wish utility skills worked more like GW1 skills. There are plenty of times I’d rather equip one of the non-elites in the elite slot.
I cannot stand the reverse brown dandruff animation with the skill and it earns a healthy amount of well deserved mocking by others. Overall it’s the best elite that we have. I find that the banner while decent it has issues that others have already mentioned….
Cooldown too long, area of effect makes it often pointless and worthless, for me as a tide turner it takes way to long to cast. I have to run over to get the small area of effect onto the people that need it putting me often in harms way which then… I have to wait to get this bloody cast off and by that time I am usually on the floor without having gotten the cast off.
That makes it very very very very situational and even in those situations often pointless.
I won’t even bring up the third one because well it’s not elite it’s poorly thought out and I challenge them to see how often it’s even put on a bar and used in the game.
Signet of Rage all day-e’ry day.
As reasons stated above: Juggernaut has no pros—as weapons and utilities out pace the 3 minute piece of garbage Juggernaut is.
Warbanner is the middle child of Guardian’s and Mesmer’s aoe rez. For a 4 minute elite you’d think Arena Net would put a little more forethought into this elite. All Banners are useless. Do not use. At level 80, if a 90 power, toughness, compassion, or whatever boost does not seem unappealing, that player has no idea what is going on.
Number stacking = zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Boon stacking = zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
All the elites a warrior has is boring, and the only reason a player is using one over the other is function, and not fashion or fun.
Its not so much that signet of rage is good, its that the other options are poor. You MIGHT bring warbanner in for certain dungeons, but thats about it. CD and range on it are terrible. Rampage is the most worthless skill ever; if it was a non-elite it probably wouldn’t see much usage still.
I really hope they add a new elite skill for warrior. A shout would work (you can go full signet and full banner atm, but not full shout yet.) Make the shout give something we don’t have access to yet, like protection boon.
If they add a new elite shout, I’d imagine we’ll see IWAY’s return.
I’ve tried using Battle Standard to act as taxi for groups but it’s not worth it compared to couple of different people applying group swiftness with non-elite skills. The 2nd skill while holding it needs to be usable while moving and stability doesn’t last long enough to be worth picking up or holding a banner. The revive has been nice couple of times but makes the elite kind of situational. I also planted the banner between two downed people in Arah dungeon and it should’ve been within 400 if not 300 range of both but only revived one. I had to revive the other manually.
I hope nobody takes away my warrior club membership but I think Rampage might be almost decent. 20 second stability and interrupts has a lot to say in a pvp situation when it comes to finishing and reviving. This might leave it a situational win-more type ability though. Also part of my original disappointment with this elite was that it was the only hope for a defensive, reactive elite cooldown.
With those points in mind, I think they could either make Rampage a stun breaker and probably instant cast, or make it (partly?) fill your health bar when used. I feel the need of defensive/reactive utilities currently limits using other stuff on Warrior and this could ease that burden – at least if you’re willing to gain mobility aid from a source other than Signet of Rage. The health idea occurred to me because right now you’d have to use Rampage at high health to make use of its health bar boost but this has to be very pre-emptive if you don’t want to protect the cast bar with another stability effect first. After early Rampage you might be ignored and kited for the full duration.
The Rampage skillset itself has been complained about but I don’t think the CC abilities are necessarily any worse to land than Hammer and the utilities they’re based on. Damage, at least for the 1st skill, should probably be move competitive with the weapons you’re putting on hold. I wish the skill felt more “ragey” and berserk-like (movement speed? Slight quickness effect? Just faster animations?) since we’re oddly losing the use of utility skills.

Signet of Rage is awesome, because you can have a 100% uptime on it with 20 or 30 points in tactics and a few rune tweaks
(edited by Gwal.2813)
Even with just 30 tactics and 10 discipline ( for the signet mastery trait) you can reduce the cooldown of Signet of Rage to 48 Seconds. Because of the increased boon duration from tactics it lasts 39 seconds. So you get to pop it every 9 seconds, which is amazing because its basically perma-swiftness and might stacks =)
The signet is okay, banner is mediocre at best. Its only used for rezzing, because the radius is very small and the stability doesnt get refreshed. The 2 seconds casttime are fairly high and make rezzing especially in PvP alot harder. What bothers me most is the imbalance compared to other classes rezz skills, because this is afaik the only ELITE that rezzes, yet there are no clear advantages for using it
warrior signets suck badly, Rage is only good one, hounds are terrible if you’re human too – CD is way too long, i should of picked asura, the golem elite is broken, it has ranged damage and constantly crits for 1.2-1.5k /0.5 second on my 36 ele, where my warhounds have to be in melee and usually always end up on other pets or mesmer clones with a very long cd, 80 warrior here, the hounds do about 900-1k / 1.5 second, they attack slowly compared to the ranged golem asura get,
other racials dont even look good i did not bother buying them, always using SoR

It’s a shame you lose swiftness buff from anything that puts you in combat, including taking 100 pts of fall damage.
we have other elites that aren’t sig of rage and warbanner?
i am so disappointed with human racial elites.
hounds of balth die in 2 hits, rampage is blah, avatar are meh, and reaper is pretty terrible.
srsly, wtf!?
It’s a shame you lose swiftness buff from anything that puts you in combat
I don’t loose swiftness by being in combat. (but I didn’t try fall damage)

It’s not that you lose Swiftness, you still have it… it’s just that combat runspeed is lower than out of combat runspeed.
The signet is the ONLY choice IMO, sans dungeons and situational encounters where many players may die in a specific location (Balthazar). Otherwise you’re losing out on 50-100% uptime of: 20% crit, 175 power, 175 ConDam, and 33% movement speed…. with the right traits and runes you can make the signet a 48 sec buff on a 48 sec cooldown … its a no brainer.
Warbanner: Area of effect too small, cooldown is high, annoying to use, limited use in spvp.
AoE is OK, just takes a bit to kick in. It should apply the AoE buff on summon. No idea why it shouldn’t. The cast time is WAYYY too long for a banner. Yes it revives a potential group of downed players … but you only gain a benefit if you forego the banner buffs until at least 2 players die. The AoE revive should be an ability with a 240 sec cooldown, not a revive on summon, that way you can at least gain the banner’s buffs before players die… and then you can make the banner the normal 120 sec cooldown rather than this 4 minute shenanigans. The 3 second stability buff is garbage; picking it up to cast CC’s yourself longer than the stability you gain F.F.S.
Juggernaut: Just plain bad. The skills you gain are nothing more than an alternative weapon set. All in all an inferior version of Rampage as One, and with a higher cooldown.
I have used this maybe twice. I feel like there has to be something awesome about this ability that I haven’t discovered yet because I have to think that such a creative, unique elite skill on such a long cooldown couldn’t possibly be THIS bad…. can it?
(edited by Qbert.4197)
To be fair none of the skills in GW1 look like they do now when GW1 first came out. The skills will likely be different several months from now and completely different from even that in a year. The same goes for traits, which they have already adjusted since release for some classes (guardian).
Still, when only one out of however many skills is only really useful. That’s kind of bad.
