How do I help my team in dungeons?

Like many of my brethren, I’m levelling as a glass cannon warrior; greatsword with offensive traits and mostly signets. It works great for events and heart quests, so I can’t complain. But I know that it’s not going to cut muster in a dungeon, so I’ve been avoiding them.

What is a good combination of traits, weapons, and slot skills for being a good group player? I think my traits are 10 strength, 20 arms, 10 discipline right now (level 50), so those are the trait passives I’ll have at my disposal.

Thanks for any help.

Passives and what not have to come from your own taste and play style to best decide what will help you the most.

For utility skills, you are going to have to drop most the signets, they just don’t do enough. When doing most dungeons I focus a lot on condition removal, so mending and shake it off are on my bar. I personally put for great justice on too, but this could easily be replaced for a different shout or banner. My elite skill varies depending on where I am, sometimes I have signet of rage for nothing more than the quickness buff, other times I use war banner for its damage potential and the rezing downed allies.

For behavior in dungeons, make sure you are using your shouts/banners frequently to keep the party buffed up when fighting. If using shake it off keep an eye on allies to see if any are about to die from conditions, otherwise I find generally if I have a condition on me, one other person does too. Finally work with the party for damage. Call out targets or jump on called out targets so your damage is being use productively.

I’m probably a minority but I chose to take a backseat to damage and provide as much support as possible.

My normal set up is a dual mace shout warrior. I choose dual mace for a few reasons

Your third strike on the main attack applies weakness, this helps mitigate a LOT of damage.
Your number 4 applies vulnerability which helps bring mobs down faster
#’s 3 and 5 are good cc 3 having a very low cd and 5 being aoe.

My traits are
0
0
30
30
10
I take missile reflect while blocking improved mace cool downs shouts heal lower shout cd and shouts give adrenaline.

I use for great justice, on my mark, and shake it off for my shouts. I also have all 6 sup runes of the soldier which makes all shouts cleanse a condition (shake it off will cleanse 2)

Work off stacks of defiant on bosses with 3 and 5 save your afrenaline stun for when you know the boss will do a big attack. My basic role is to stop enemies from putting out as much damage as possible.

I find this setup amazing. It really starts to shine once you get level 60 and can use 30 points in a trait. Very group friendly with buffs, heals, crows control and lots of survivability. And even tho your raw stats don’t look as impressive, once you get fury and might stacked up and last chance kicks in you will see why I switched from glass cannon to this without looking back once. I’ve gotten compliments from players in world pve and dungeon scenario’s.

Traits:
30 tactics
stronger bowstrings
lung capacity
vigorous shouts
30 arms
deep cuts or furious speed*
crack shot
last chance (awesome)
10 in any of the others depending what u like.
strength-berserkers power
defense-embrace the pain
discipline-inspiring shouts

Skills:
Healing Signet
Shake It Off
For Great Justice
Fear Me
Signet of Rage
Gear:
mainly power,precision,vitality
Weapons:
rifle with sigil “of blood” that gives chance to heal yourself
longbow with sigil “of water” that gives chance to heal allies
