[vT] Violent Tendencies
Q:
Hey guys.
Been playing my warrior a lot lately instead of my guardian. I love everything it brings to the table but I cant seem to find an effective way to deal with condi’s. Any recommendations? I would prefer not to use a warhorn if I dont have too as I run a tanky roaming build and do not want to invest points into the vitality line.
My current method is to use dogged march/cleansing ire with melandru runes and food. However if I run into more than 1 condi user it doesnt seem to cut it. I also user zerker stance but it isnt enough. Thoughts?
If you run into more than 1 conditional user, just run. Another way is to spec conditional bunker with shout heal.
What you just describes is almost max counter-conditional set-up. The only other thing you could add would be Signet of Stamina if you wanted.
Warriors have it easy against heavy conditions, think about other professions and what they have to deal with. Even escaping 2 heavy Condi-builds is good for them, but in answer there is nothing you can do other than kill/down one of them during your Zerker stance is active to make it a 1v1 with 1 guy downed.
Run away/kite until help arrives would be my suggestion. You don’t have to take every fight you come across, just ask a thief.

I mean coming from Main Guard for almost 2 years, my condi cleanse is great but it has no damage. Guess ill have to consider my fight or flight options better. I can win pretty much win and 1v1 or 2-3v1 if theyre power builds but the condi meta is pretty sucky.
Berserker Stance + Signet of Stamina + Shake It Off
Dogged March + Cleansing Ire
30 in Tactics, taking Shrug it Off, -20% Shout CD, and Shouts heal.
Soldier Runes
Of course, if you want a viable build just get Zerker Stance and 20 in Defense. Warrior is one of the best counters to conditions in the game, even with just those two.
I kill them dead 1st before they get thier condi dump off.
Zerk stance ?lbF1 ?pindown ?AA ? rush ? 100blades ?whirlwind ? bladetrail.
They are usually dead before or after 100blades.

And what if they know how to dodge?

Good joke.
Never cleanse yourself just for one or two condis, meaning if theyre not stacked to 20+ or w/e.Cleansing yourself when you have 4 – 5 condis while just having popped berserk so they cant be reapplied the next 8 sec is the best thing.Always pay attention to your condis and dont randomly cleanse..you could be cleansing 2 stacks of vulnerability + Poison + 3 bleed stacks…you dont cleanse for something like that for e.g.

Come on, this is GW2. Dodging? What a fancy idea. What’s next? Blocking? Controlling? Stealthing? Teleporting? Kiting with superior mobility? Activating invulnerability?
There’s no way a player can have enough insight to do even one of that, especially when faced with an incoming GS-warrior eager to hundred-blades him, with lightning in his eyes, rage in his voice and possibly light armor showing more than morals recommends. Truly, his sole option is to wait and perish, which splendidly demonstrates that condition management is entirely useless, and incidentally that Asura are aesthetically superior.
(I’d love people to believe that. More free kills for my condition warrior).

I know huh.
The OP also has 2 condition users, before the 100b warrior even gets close, he will be crippled, confused, immobilized, feared, chilled, tormented, dotted, and set on fire. By the time the warrior actually get to his target, he would be half dead. That’s assuming his target didn’t immediately break out of immobilize and start dotting him too.
Its funny, in sPvP, a thief would come to my conditional bunker warrior, back-stab me a few times, realizing how little damage he did and leave for me to cap the point. Good luck doing that much damage with 100b even if all hits landed (a big if).
So yeah with 1 pure conditional user, a zerker warrior would have a chance, with 2 just run, unless at least 1 is a up-leveled.

Never run from a fight. I find that except against condi warriors Zerker and cleansing ire and the runes traits and food is enough. If you have decent burst and use zerker stance to land it early in the fight. Naturally warriors are just too tanky for my hammer to take any real damage from it’s stun rotation. All you need to do is have damage enough to keep them defensive and they won’t be much of a threat condi or physical damage.
I had the same problem, the trash the condi throw is sick. But there is hope. Cleansing Ire is a must under defense I also use dogged march. my main weapons have the generosity sigil. I had a two handed weapon with gen. sigil and purity sigil, but dropped the later for something else. On healing skills you can use the mending cures 3 condi. and heals a bit. Beserker stance blocks conditions for a bit. Shouts work for some condi. There is a healing skill that removes all conditions that is the one I mainly use. you have to time that well, you want lots of conditions taken away not just a few. It takes a while for the skill to activate and if you are slashing and stuff it, it might get overwhelmed and not activate. I been able to handle the conditions well, my warrior is not as powerful as he could be, but he is alive. I’ll change the skills on the fly if I know that is a mes and a necro around the corner. There are time all my skills are dealing with conditions, but that is rare.
