How's Warrior for PvP & WvW?
Depends what you’re into bud. If you run with the zerg then Hammer & S/WH shout build is the way to go imho. You provide good damage to the melee train, good support with heals and condi cleanse and you have great survivability.

As far as PvP goes there’s not Warrior, there’s Rampage. It’s actually the name of the class now. Outside of that Warriors are completely useless.
I’m having a lot of success with a zerker stance build in pvp. Feels a bit like playing a ninja, as it all comes down to poping your skills at the right times for great effect, or no effect.
When I get home I’ll link the build, but there is a build very similar on meta battle, except instead of hammer I use rifle, which lets me win almost any 1v1, by kiting.
In WvW, I’m actually having the most success with a gs sw/sh build. Can handle quite a bit, and run when it cant. It has way more damage than the old weapon set, and I just soled a mes without taking almost any damage on this build. (Just after poping all my cooldowns on a camp) But it comes down to twitch play like a lot of gw2, so the build doesn’t give you the cookie.
Edit: Here is my pvp build.
The wvw build is a little different (2.6k armor, 20k hp) and I also used sw/sh over rifle for roaming, as the disengages really help. I also try to make great use of the mobility in combat for positioning. Surprise someone with quickness, but before they escape hit them with a quick finishing strike. You have two moves in his set that hit like trucks when the enemy falls below 50%. Once you get someone low, you should start to pull ahead. Try and play mind games with defiant stance, you deal bonus damage during (might), so go full offense and look like you have just thrown caution to the wind. Also, never pop it when you get too low, you;ll end up triggering endure pain, and take no damage, so heal for nothing. Good luck, warrior is lots of fun, and very offensive focused with these builds. It is all about pressuring your oponents to make mistakes. Better players become much harder than most fodder you’ll fight.

So basically I noticed that if you use rampage and win, you are bad warrior using cheese elite. If you don’t use rampage you will die. I “love” getting whining whisps in WvW after I use rampage in fight. Especially from blind spamming thieves…
This is pretty sad.
I “recommend” to try the most cheesy warrior build in WvW. Dire perplexity confusion interrupted. Mace/Shield + Hammer + Rampage. I know this is mean, but I love the surprise of most enemies as they just kill themselves (+ I like to try new things)… and it is much more easier to deal with condis in this new Condi Wars 2.
I’ve been unsure of what to use >.<
GS/Rifle is great for 1 v 1’s and roaming, however weak for PvP due to having to hold inside the zones which is a big nono for ranged attacks
GS / Hammer is also decent-good for 1 v 1’s, roaming but it’s better than GS/Rifle in PvP and great to defend the zones.
GS / Mace/Shield is once again great for 1 v 1’s however can be kited a lot easier than the other 2 and no as good as GS/Hammer to hold down zones in PvP.
GS Hammer also seems better to 1 v 2 / 1 v 3 but I’m not sure. What’s your input on this?
Ive been using GS Mace/Shield with ARMS instead of Strength line. As such i use signet of rage (for the fury and Crit buff from signet mastery) and not rampage….Yes its not as faceroll as Rampage but i still win a good % of my fights.
Ive used rampage in a build and when im lazy it really is much much easier to win against average players. But i dont really enjoy it.

Ehh…. what heals? You mean the nerfed shout warrior heals? They are not worth taking at all. The heal is half what it was. Get out of shouts as fast as you can, because they also nerfed the warhorn capabilities along with it. So removing conditions with shouts + warhorn is also destroyed. Survivability for warrior is pretty kitten in those regards, you must find another build. Also, they ruined the adrenaline heal so healing signet is the only viable option anymore imo.
I’ve been using GS/Hammer, often times GS/Mace&Shield and if I wanna go whack GS/Dual Mace. For mace&shield, Shield Master’s reflect works for the Mace’s parry and if a stupid Ranger starts opening fire at you with Rapid Fire, do a Shield Stance and laugh as he kills himself.
Anything that lets you knock down, stun, swap to GS and Hundred Blades and Arcing Slice the enemy will melt almost anyone in the meta if they don’t stunbreak or toggle invulnerabilities. If they do stunbreak, keep your stability and zerker stance up and keep doing it until they have to run or their breaks are off-CD, in which case they will die.
Funny thing is as glassy as you are running a zerk you are still among the tankiest classes in the game (excluding Plague necros w/ 2 health bars). Personally I run Signet of Stamina. It helps me dodge more often and take less burst dmg. Also if I get 5+ condis stacked on me or if a guard gets me both blinded and 5+stack burned I can cleanse everything away and negate his dmg.
Cleansing Ire is still great imo. When you don’t have a lot of extra fury generation taking lots of hits with Endure Pain up will get your next burst ready quickly. If you’re blinded, move out of the blind field, miss one autoattack and burst anything in your way to get rid of 3 conditions.
I should be running Rampage, but I don’t like to since it’s so cheap right now. I still run Signet of Rage. Battle Standard if I’m playing with an organized groups. The warrior can definetely work right now, but most builds are reliant on GS’s mobility and dmg, or else you can easily get kited. However there are builds out there that use Sword as a main hand and some diehard eviscerate fans make the weapon very effective.
Anything can work, really, but we are definetely not as powerful as Mesmers and Engineers or Elementalists. If you’re a skilled player you’ll find a way to win over the Warrior’s easily telegraphed skills and outsmart opponents.

In pvp, true I use Rampage, but I also go Hamer with Axe/mace. I slot Bull’s charge for an extra knockdown, and well I still get burnt down pretty easy but I can cause a certain amount of havok. Although GS Rangers pretty much ignore my knockdowns. Either way its super fun.

anet needs to give wars and gaurds their toughness back, seems they forget to give us that stat after they took stats from trait lines, zerk war prepatch had almost 2.7k armor and now it barely get out of 2.1k armor
why play a heavy armor zerk when you can play a light armor class that has the same toughness and more options

Warriors weren’t affected by this any more than any other class. The stats you used to get from traits (like toughness) got channeled into your power, precision and ferocity when your gear stats were bumped.
So if you want to get your toughness back, or whatever, you just have to trade your recently buffed power, precision and/or ferocity to get it. Try throwing some knights into your mix.
If you’re playing pvp, just switch your amulet to whatever gets you closest to where you want to be.

our power precision and ferocity was in a good spot, stupid change, the other amulet compensate for lost toughness BUT we lost another need stat in exchange,
answer this simple question why play a squish warrior when you can play a squish thief or mesmer?

That’s a separate question that has nothing to do with a loss of toughness through moving attributes away from traits.
